EPISODE 196: The New Era of Pokemon Genetics!

It's time to continue our journey to Dracovolt city. After a rematch against the dragon trainer Darcy and her three-headed dragon beast Hydreigon, it's time to continue to the next part of the alternative path.

Only one town and valley remains, before reaching Dracovolt city. A city filled with lustrous lights, old structures, and old-Japanese style houses. This city is famous for its ancient tower called the Tower of Dragons.

The Tower of Dragons, a tall and vibrant tower filled with black tinned roofs, and large dragon griffins hanging on the edges which symbolizes the power of the dragon type. For years, this tower has been the home to every dragon specie. From Dragonite, to Goodra, if you want to catch dragon Pokemons, this is the best place to be.

Some say that the city is also famous for "Fossil Combinations." A technique wherein two fossils are merged upon each other to form a new Pokemon specie. An example of this, is the famous Dracozolt. A dragon and Electric type Pokemon.

Dracozolt is a hybrid fossil Pokémon. It has a small yellow upper body with two long wings shaped like lightning bolts on its arms. It has a long neck that connects to a raptor-like head with closed eyes and a red spot on each cheek. The upper half is connected to the middle of the lower body, with an orange and yellow circle surrounding the neck. The lower body is colored pink and green. The legs are green with pink toes and stripes and the tail is green with pink stripes and spikes.

It generates electricity thanks to its powerful tail muscles. It allegedly overate its plant-based food sources, causing it to eventually go extinct, though this is likely not the case due to Dracozolt being combined from two separate Pokémon that each had their niches before going extinct.

If you come to think of it, this so called Dracozolt may seem strong and mighty but in fact, it's just a weird thunder face merged against a rainbow T-rex tail. Aside from Dracozolt, we also have Dracovish, another fossil hybrid.

Dracovish is a hybrid fossil Pokémon. It consists of the head of the fish fossil and the back legs and tail of the dino fossil. The tail region ends abruptly at a circular cutoff. The legs are mostly green with two pink stripes. The feet have three red claws. The neck is also mostly green but has a red stripe going up the middle. The stripe is lined with three curved spikes on both sides. Dracovish's head is roughly circular with a rounded triangular plate on the top. On the plate is a red and white region that extends between the eyes. Its mouth has three sharp teeth in the middle. Its eyes are round and have black rectangular pupils. Two fins protrude from the bottom of the jaw.

Dracovish is said to have been the apex predator of its time due to its powerful legs and jaws, and the ability to run at speeds exceeding 40 mph. However, it could not breathe unless it was underwater. It allegedly went extinct due to overhunting its prey, though this is likely not the case due to Dracovish being combined from two separate Pokémon that each had their niches before going extinct.

To tell the truth, hybrid fossils look extremely weird for me. It sounds unnecessary to merge a fish and a dinosaur together... but as humans, we cannot complain against mother nature's creativity, even if we're the ones who did it.

What happens if you merge a fish with an ancient looking Lapras? You get Arctovish. Arctovish is a fish-plesiosaur hybrid fossil Pokémon. The plesiosaur half is colored blue and white. It has a blue tail with a fin on top. The flippers are colored blue with white patches on the end and with white spots. The fish half is applied upside down. It has a round blue head with black rectangle pupils, and the mouth is located on top of its head. It has white fins connected to its fish head.

It has trouble eating due to its mouth being on top of its head, even though it captures prey by freezing its surroundings. The skin on Arctovish's face is impervious to attacks. It allegedly became extinct despite this due to breathing difficulties, though this is likely not the case due to Arctovish being combined from two separate Pokémon that each had their niches before going extinct.

About merging a yellow bird with an ancient Lapras? What do we get? Arctozolt. Arctozolt is a hybrid fossil Pokémon. It has a light blue body with a snow-like patch on the top. Its body has blue fins with white patches on the ends and some spots. It has a mosasaur-like tail with a fin on top. It has two yellow hands. Arctozolt has a raptor-like head with closed eyes and a blue spot on each cheek. It produces mucus from its nose.

By shaking its freezing upper half, it can generate electricity. It was known to live in ancient shores and preserved its food with the ice on its body. It allegedly went extinct because it moved very slowly, but this is likely not the case due to Arctozolt being combined from two separate Pokémon that each had their niches before going extinct.

These four creatures are the product of humanity's creative mind. Playing with nature seems like a fun thing to do except for the consequences it bears. As time goes by, more fossils are being merged causing the rise of a new Pokemon era, called "Hybrid Pokemons."

At least the term Hybrid Pokemons sounds less frightening than monsters from other dimensions called Ultra Beast. I wonder how merging a Kabutops with an Omaster look like? Or a hybrid Archeops and Tortuga? Playing with nature's children is a fine and brilliant thing to do, it helps humans discover new species, and enlargens our knowledge of the ancient past. Through the new era of Dragon Pokemon Genetics, we humans will finally know how and why did we arrive here?

A question answered by facts, and not merely myths. Through the combination of fossils, our creativity enlargens, and with that creativity, humanity will become limitless. New technologies, new gadgets, new civilizations, and new eras of Pokemons species.

Though, humanity must remember, that in whatever we do, we should do it for the sake of justice and order, not merely for selfish nor greedy deeds. For every action, requires great responsibility.

Dracovolt, Arctovish, Arctozolt, and Dracovish are the first four Pokemons belonging to a species, we now call "Hybrids." A next step to the future of the Pokemon World. A more harmonious, and safer future... That's if, humanity will work on something for the sake of all and not merely themselves.

As we set a course for the city, who knows what dragon types we'll meet? Who knows what other Pokemons will be added to the so-called "Hybrids." Are there chances of these new species to attack those who have brought lives to them? Only time will tell as the journey continues...
