Chapter 36: Destiny of an Assassin

Yang Faolan cried and hugged Yang Feng not because of Yang Feng hitting him on his head but the fact he was nearly killed. Yang Feng looked at the face of Yang Faolan and for some reason, he couldn't bear for him to become a cold-blooded killer. Yang Feng knew what the destiny of an assassin would be but he couldn't imagine the destiny of an assassin god.

The destiny of an assassin was to be a murderer no matter what wether he becomes a heroic killer who fights for justice or a heartless killer. Yang Feng hoped Yang Faolan would never take the path of the cold blooded killer even if Yang Feng had to personally take action.

Yang Feng wanted to fight to destroy another bandit's base but his soldiers were too weak and with their current strength travelling the forest in the night may end up in disaster for them so Yang Feng ordered his soldiers to rest while Yang Feng stayed as a nightguard.

In the middle of the night while Yang Feng was staying as a nightguard. Guang Fei approached and asked him to rest while he as a guard. Yang Feng replied "Our soldiers including you have fought two battles. You should be the one to rest and prepare for our final battle"

Guang Fei didn't back down and refuted his words "In both battles, you were the one who was at the lead fighting the enemy. I dared to say you are the most exhausted among us"

Yang Feng was surprised with his attitude but he simply smiled and said "Well then call me or other soldiers if you are tired" and went to rest.

When he opened his eyes it was already morning so he ordered his soldiers for the final battle.

The soldiers followed his ordered and started to prepare for battle. Yang Feng too was preparing for battle but he heard the voice of Yang Faolan outside. When he went outside he found out he was training under Ling Tian. Yang Faolan was covered in sweat and seem to be extremely tired yet Ling tian didn't show any sign of giving him rest.

Yang Feng watched Yang Faolan and noticed he was trying his best to meet up with the expectation of Ling Tian which made Yang Feng very satisfied with his spirit.

Ase passed the soldiers were ready to march to fight another battle.

Yang Feng had sent Chen An as a scout to survey the area for any dangers and when Chen An returned he reported there were no dangers and so Yang Feng ordered his soldiers to march to another bandit's base. He left the base while keeping a portion of his soldiers to defend the slaves.

When Yang Feng and his soldiers reached near their base he again sent Chen An to examine their base. After half an hour Chen An returned and reported there were only 12 bandits which surprised Yang Feng. Yang Feng stationed archers in the trees and ordered them to fire at his signal and his soldiers not to make any stupid move.

But Yang Feng did something unexpected which confused all of his soldiers. Walking straight on the base of the bandits in open with no intention of hiding.

One of the bandits quickly spotted Yang Feng holding a sword and shouted "Enemy attack". Seeing Yang Feng all alone the bandits charged at Yang Feng without thinking anything.

Five bandits came and surrounded Yang Feng pointing their spear towards Yang Feng. One of the bandits asked and shouted "Drop down your weapon"

Another bandit said "Let's just kill him and not waste our time"

Yang Feng suddenly attacked one of the bandits and killing him and using this chance to run away.

Other four bandits who were in the base came out to help their comrade but the remaining three didn't come thinking it was a trap they wanted to tell it may be a trap but it was too late.

Watching their comrade fall the bandits except for those three were in a rage and chased after Yang Feng to avenge their comrade. Yang Feng had already entered the forest and when the bandits reached the range of those archers, Yang Feng gave the signal and the archers fired arrows. Only two survived while others were all dead.
