2.9 The Mad Rogue/New Member in the Moonlight Mercenaries/Conflict with The Paradise Guild

Scarlett finds an area crowded with people and looks at her map. After making sure that this is the right area, she looks for a queue with alot of people and place her self into it. What she doesn't know is that because of her special identity as a early release player, she gets priority in the queue and is placed 1st.

She almost doesn't realize when she was teleported to the arena.

Waking out of her daze, she looks across and see a shield warrior looking at her with contempt. He wore a emblem that was the universal symbol of joy. She didn't know what guild he was in but that look immediately invoked a fire in her heart. She then saw his eyes look her up in down and this made her uncomfortable as much as it pissed her off. She sneered as she walked towards him, her murderous intent barely concealed as she wants take her time with him.

The victim seems to have realized that he provokes a hornets nest as he stops staring at her body lecherously as he hears alarm bells go off in his head. At this time, BloodMoon speaks. "I will deal with you slowly... heheh..." She disappeared into stealth and began moving towards him. Her chuckle at the end made the poor man feel as though he just jumped into an ice bath. He put the shield in front of his chest as he ducked his head down, looking like a turtle in its shell. Scarlett laughed at this and rushed him down.

The shield warrior was gaurding his head and chest when he felt something hit his shin and send his upper to the ground. His face hit the ground and his nose began to bleed. He cried out in pain as he got up and looked around only to see no one. He wasn't able to sense anything around him and knew he fucked up.

He was planning on using an aoe skill to makd Scarlett reveal herself when her saw a notification on his screen.

[You have been hit with a kidney shot. Effective for 6 seconds]

This made his heart sink as this demon like woman appeared in front of him and wore the coldest expression on her face when she looked him. She took her blade and brought it up to his eyes.

"It seems that you liked what you saw, hmmm?" She gathered her flames onto her blade and condensed them onto the tip of her blade. "Do you like this? Isn't it very pretty?"

Noticing that the stun was wearing off soon, the shield warrior was gonna cry tears of joy but before he could be too happy, Scarlett smiled.

Tendrils of water shot out of the ground and wrapped his limbs up to prevent him from moving. The shield warrior's eyes were filled with despair as he fully regretted provoking this demon lord.

Before he could start begging for mercy, he felt a blade hotter than lava enter his eye. Even though the pain sensors limited the pain to 45% Its still made this man scream as if a

pig was being slaughtered. It was so loud that even the people outside of the arena could hear it clearly.

"What the hell? Who slaughted a pig inside the arena?" Someone cried out.

"Holy Shit! That almost gave me a heart attack." A young woman exclaimed.

Outside of the arena, everyone waiting for the next battle was horrified. When the blade went under the skin, it melt his face and eyes off, she stopped the blade just before it hit his brain and the viewers saw a boiling liquid come out of his nose as he screamed even louder. After 4 seconds of loud screaming, it suddenly went silent. His body turned into motes of light as an announcement sounded out loudly. "Player Cloud has been disconnected from the game due to his mental state becoming unstable. Player BloodMoon has won her match."

Confetti popped out from the corners of the stage as everyone looked at her with trepidation.

"BloodMoon? What did this guy do to make do that to him?" Phoenix Wing was also there and saw everything from beginning to end. He almost retched when he saw the way that guy died. He was glad that him and BloodMoon were on good terms.

After that battle, Scarlett saw that she had completed her quest and saw that she had to return to Lord Quinn for her next quest. She teleported outside ofnthe arena and headed straight for Lord Quinn's Hall.

She found lord Quinn sitting in the same spot.

"Well done, you demolished your opponent without taking any damage. Your are indeed very talented in the art of killing. I have an extra reward for not taking any damage. Well. its less of an award and more like an opportunity... Do you want to take it?"

[Do you accept?]

Sure why not?

[Yes]

League of Assassins?

Scarlett rubbed her chin in deep thought. She decided to put this quest off for now because the Aquarius Kingdom is a level 40 - 50 area and she had no idea if she could live long in that place.

Scarlett leaves that place and finds a room to queue up in. For some reason, there were a bunch of people in the room watching this arena. She decided to see if what was going on was interesting and came across an interesting battle.

In the middle of the arena, A huntress with a mask on her face and a cowl over her body was moving her upper body sporadically, evading the Assassin's blade by a hair everytime.

The Assassin was breathing heavily and was pissed because his stamina ran out. Right. when the Assassin slowed down, the huntress jumped backwards to create some space and knocked an arrow into her bow. Right after she pulled it back, the arrow began to glow a deep purple as sparks of lightning were discharged from it. This arrow made Scarlett feel as if she had found a worth opponent as her eyes filled with battle intent.

When the arrow was released from the bow, Scarlett could only barley tell the arrow's position before it lodged itself into the Assassin's forehead. This hit instantly killed him and sent him out of the arena. Scarlett queued up and was, once again placed 1st. She was immediately teleported into the arena.

Upon getting into the arena, the Huntress looked at her with some surprise. "BloodMoon? I didn't expect to meet you here? My name is Athena. Let's have a good battle." After saying that, the countdown started.

BloodMoon nodded and flipped her blade in her hand. She closed her eyes and mentally prepared herself for the fight.

Athena changed her bow from a crossbow to a Compound bow.

Fight!

Scarlett immediately used stealth and rushed Athena. Athena on the other hand took something out of her pouch and threw it on the ground.

At this moment, there was a flash of light that went off and Scarlett was forced out of steath.

[You have been hit with a flashbang. You vision has been impared for 9 seconds.]

Huh?

At this point, Scarlett felt the wind beging to cut her face and she immediately dodged out of the way. An arrow then whizzed through the air beside her cheek.

'So that's how that other guy was beat.' Scarlett radiated so much battle intent that it was becoming tangible. Her eyes flashed as deep crimson flames dances around her body like hair in the wind.

Athena was shocked by this. 'Bloodline? The ranking isn't low either.' Athena jumped backwards to create some distance but suddenly felt killing intent from behind and immediately twisted her body, evading a fatal blow to the back of the head but before she got comfortable, Scarlett reverse gripped her blade and drove it into Athena's neck. And with this, the battle is over.

Athena was sent out of the Arena feeling a bit down. She thought that she could last a bit longer if tried a bit harder. It was at this moment that she recieved a notification.

[BloodMoon has sent a friend request]

She was stunned for a moment. She recovered and quickly accepted the friend request. She then recieved another notification.

[You have been invited to join the Moonlight Mercenary Group]

She also accepted this quickly. She was then placed in a Voice Channel that belonged to the Mercenary group.

"Oh, we have a new member!" Blade Dance was very excited.

"Hello everyone." A voice entered everyone's ears and someone exclaims.

"Aren't you the Huntress that mopped the arena floor with me earlier today?" Tyrant was very surprised to see the person who destroyed him get invited to the group.

Storm was gonna laugh but a cold voice came into everyone's ears that made him swallow his words and almost choke.

"I can say with confidence that Athena could single handedly kill everyone except me in a 1 on 1." After saying this, she spoke to Athena. "Athena, stay in the arena and spectate me for a couple matches. Let me show you how to use a bow."

After saying this, BloodMoon summons her bow and the flames on her bow begin to wave around crazily. She controls her flames and condenses them.

'What a large bow! How high is her strength?' Athena thought what everyone in the arena spectating was thinking

While doing this, another player teleports into the arena.A swordsman with black robes and a mask over his face looks at Scarlett and brandished his blades.

'A Huntress? Why is she wearing thief style gear?' He was confused but quickly put it to the back of his mind and mentally prepared for combat.

Fight!

Scarlett immediately took a step backwards and knocked a mana arrow while she was moving. The swordsman rushed forward at this time, doing his best to get close to her before the situation becomes unresolvable.

The fire mana condensed on the golden bow string as the bow tensed up. She released the arrow and the arrow immediately aimed for the swordsman's chest. Before the swordsman could react, he was teleported out of the arena.

[Global Announcement: Congratulations to BloodMoon for have the fastest Battle with a time of .796 seconds in the Divine Arena.]

"With a well placed shot while being accurate on the move, you end a match almost instantly. This only works if you are able to create distance But there are also more ways to battle like if someone is getting closer to you while you are moving backwards, take out your dagger. For an archer, your daggers job is to help you parry other blades. Your strength and dexterity need to be high enough if you don't want to take damage against higher strength opponents, but even so, its better than dying in one shot. You can also use your bow to hit them if you don't have time to pull your dagger out." After saying this, the 3rd opponent teleported in. A thief wearing very valuable gear with the lowest ranked piece being secret silver while the highest was dark gold.

Scarlett immediately stepped backwards but this time she was slower and allowed the thief to go into stealth. The thief then decided to flank her side at an angle and went for a kidney shot, while he was going for the kidney shot, Scarlett twisted her body and swept her bow out, hitting the unprepared thief in the face. The poor thief was sent flying and was left with 1 hp before Scarlett finished him off with a throwing knife.

The crowd was astonished. They didn't know that bows could be used like this.

"Aren't you a thief? You're BloodMoon right? Why are you so proficient with bows?" Exclaimed the assassin that was just knocked out of the arena.

BloodMoon heard this and smiled. "If I can use them outside the game, why not in the game as well?" She shrugged her shoulders and looked at the person who had just teleported inside. It was a berserker with a large greatsword. He was the first opponent Bloodmoon had ever face that was taller than her.

Readying for battle, both of them place their blades in front of their bodies as they wait for the countdown.

As soon as the countdown ended, the berserker rushed forward but noticed something that was strange. Not just him, everyone else thought it was strange as well. BloodMoon was planning on facing a berserker directly.

The berserker sneered and used [Whirlwind Blade]. See the move that the berserker was using, Scarlett used gale steps to go go invincible and reach his chest in the blink of an eye. Before the Berserker could even react, Scarlett had already attacked him 4 times, dropping his HP down to zero.

With a flash of light, the berserker was teleported out of the arena.

Outside of the Arena...

At this point more and more people started to come over. One group of people caught everyone's eye. This group of people were all wearing universal symbol for joy as their emblem as their eyes blazed with fury as they walked through the crowd.

"Who provoked the Paradise Guild? They even brought out their #1 Assassin, Sinister and the people under him. Beside him is their Warrior, BackBreaker. He is the #1 Warrior in their guild. Let's follow them and see what's going on?" The person saying this wasn't alone. Everyone wanted to see the unlucky person who had attracted the guild's fury. They all followed them and quickly arrived at the Room #13 spectating area. After going in, they all saw a figure standing in the middle of the arena driving her blade into the neck of another thief. With a flash both of the players were teleported out.

Scarlett's POV

After getting teleported outside, she saw a prompt on her screen.

You have fought 15 matches in a row. Would you like to take a break? [Yes/No]

She click yes and a timer popped up on her screen.

14:59...

She sat down and looked around and thought, 'Why are there much more people than earlier?' It was at this moment that she felt a piercing gaze on her body and turned to face them.

She looked at them and thought to herself. 'It seems that someone was a very sore loser and brought their guild. Heheheh...' She looked back at them and sliced across her neck with her thumb. Her provocation was very successful at their thief's aura became colder than ice. The people around them felt the temperature drop and they suddenly began to loose health, some of them even died.

When Scarlett saw this, she raised her eyebrow in surprise. 'A bloodline? It seems that the other guilds have them now as well but... theirs are ranked far lower than mine for now.'

At this point, the thief named Sinister got up and started to walk her way. His group followed behind him as well. Scarlett see's something familiar at this point on thier chests.

'Joy Symbol?... heheh, I get it now.' She also decided to get up at this time and walked towards them.

Athena saw all of this go down and wondered what was happening when the atmosphere was off. The people that followed the Paradise Guild members also saw this and figured out who the cause of this commotion was.

"It's BloodMoon!"

"How is she involved?"

"The Paradise Guild is against BloodMoon!"

"This Guild is sending this many people against a woman. Do they know any shame?" A young lady in the crowd shouted

"Have you never heard of their guild? They have been seen kidnapping woman in the wilderness and forcing them to strip and they would take pictures and post them on their guilds forum page. They are scoundrels through and through. Why would they care about numbers?" An informed person spoke out. This person looked on at the situation with some worry. It was a level 22 warrior that wore leather armor. He considers himself as a fan of BloodMoon and watches all of her streams. His name was JayThePvPGod.

At this time Scarlett was right in front of Sinister with no expression on her face. She looked at sinister and then at the people behind him.

Sinister and BackBreaker also looked at the young woman that was infront of them. Both of them looked at each other and thought the same thing. 'Cool Beauty!' They imagined breaking down her will one piece at a time and then they would make her the guilds plaything. Just thinking about what they would do with her made them so excited that they were about to pounce on her at that moment but they stopped themselves.

These thoughts couldn't be hidden from Scarlett when she saw the lust in their eyes. She scoffed inwardly as her eyes narrowed.

As if not caring for her anger, the warrior walked up to her and said. "You must be BloodMoon. My name is BackBreaker and I am one of the vice guild leaders of the Paradise Guild. My Guild Leader has ordered us to bring you to him. Please don't make use do that and just follow us." After saying this, he looked at Sinister and said. "My friend Sinister can be a bit rough when handling women but I promise that if you comply, we won't mistreat you." He smiled but his eyes were poisonous like a viper and were ready to strike at anytime. Scarlett looked at BackBreaker for a little while before shifting her gaze to Sinister. When Sinister saw her gaze shift towards him, he licked his lips playfully as if he was ready to see her struggle under him.

When Scarlett saw this, she didn't get angry; instead she laughed. She laughed almost as if she had heard the funniest joke in her in entire life. She laughed so much that she felt like her stomach cramped. She was in pain but just couldn't stop.

"Was what I said that funny?" BackBreaker narrowed his eyes as he felt that he was being mocked. His killing intent flared momentarily but was quickly hidden.

Still laughing, Scarlett replied with some effort. "BackBreaker or would you like to be called Young Master BackBreaker? Do you think that you are a scion from high society in the Ancient times. Why have you got to act so pretentiously like you have a good name for yourself? Your ears must be filled with wax if it can block out the sound of peoples voices. If you were thinking that I couldn't hear them, then I can only tell you that I only thought worse of your group after hearing them? That's not to say that I won't visit your guild leader though..." When people heard the last sentence, they were confused. 'Would you visit him?' This went through everyone's head. Even BackBreaker and Sinister were confused. One second, they were being mocked and taunted in the public eye, the next, the person who mocked them wanted to visit their Guild Leader. Scarlett then cleared their confusion. "I mean... Your guild leader needs to be killed by me so its only right for me to hunt him down and kill him to level 0 right. I would even to the general public a favor by doing this. I might even be reward by the development team. A guild like yours would only stain the sanctity of this game I would be glad to cleanse you from it. I will start with you guys first." She pointed her dagger at them and then said. "Who wants to fight first or if you can't decide, you can come at me together. I'm fine with both options but I would rather end this quickly."

She did a quick count in her head. '15 victims...'

Sinister's eyes became cold as a blast of cold air emanated from his body, freezing people nearby. BloodMoon felt this cold air but paid no mind. Instead, her battle intent soared as her deep crimson flames began to rise from her body. Her flames were alot more controlled than Sinister's icy air blast. They didn't hurt people but everyone could feel their temperature. Some began to sweat profusely and backed away from her.

BackBreaker narrowed his eyes and laughed. As he began to laugh, arcs of lightning weaved around his body and his hair began to wave around his body. "Interesting, you are alot more interesting than I thought you would be. Since it seems like we are can't coexist, why not throw some stakes out. I heard that the divine arena has arena called the Heavenly Punishment Arena. I want to try out. Are you in?" With a smile that wasn't a smile, BackBreaker asked BloodMoon this.

BloodMoon heard this and was very intrigued. She nodded and said "Lead the way then."
