A Visit to the Fief

At the end all three decided to take a look at the fief. As fief is very large and consist of land of barons and knights under them, they are only going to visit city area and small villages bordering it

Sehjal tried her best at horse ridding but still felt awkward, but there is no other option As the original loves horse riding the most. She started missing her car :(

after 2 hours on the horse back finally they enter the city area, the city was bustling with people and all the stalls and various objects being sold at pedestals make it appear more lively. She was examining the city very closely as its going to be her home from now on and is also in charge of managing it.

Sehjal thought, Business seems good, as lots of merchants buying and selling can be seen. There are city guards patrolling the streets From memories she knew the details but felt good by looking directly at it. But she also know she has no full control of the area as all the hyenas are still lurking around and causing trouble for her.Some of the management rights are taken over by her uncle, who is half brother of her father also an illegitimate son of a concubine

She saw different shops expertise in different fields, embroidery, fishery agriculture, medicine, Jewelry and other treasures and gems. As the city is quite near the sea area lots of marine products can be seen in the market. few of the shops are owned by their family.

She want to go inside the tea house and have a look which was always mentioned in the novels she read, But today she want to take an overview of the area so she decided to go on some other time.

The fief is rich in agriculture and marine products although marine trade is not yet developed. Ships in this periods are not good enough to handle the sharp sea currents.

After they passed the market area, she wanted to visit the entertainment area but felix opposed her and due to security and other unknown issues she was not allowed to go there. Then they have a look at residential area.

Residential area is divided into two main parts one for minor nobles and other rich officials and merchants. It is on one side of the city and are separated from the rest with market in between and strict check posts. Other area is on other side divided by walls between them.Other is for poor or simply a slum area.

She first go through high standing residential area, regular patrol, brick buildings , paved streets, proper hygiene is maintained. Few Large manors stood imposingly, these are the houses of their relatives. She has no interest in studying it so left the area without going further.

After that she take a look at slums, She started feeling very upset. Houses appeared they would collapse at any time. Further she went she saw less brick houses and more made up of mud and thaw cottages are seen. No active patrols, no proper hygiene. The whole area smell really weird. People wore ragged clothes and appear haggered, sadness visible on their faces.

She want to go further but on Felix's request they left the area and went for the bordering villages. She want to see further but know best not to go against his opinion as he visit the area often and is more knowledge able.

the previous owner of this body rarely visit outside and mostly coupes up with academic stuff and other financial reports from all over the fief. She saw Roads changed from paved with stones to only muddy roads.

As they are travelling further they came upon the intersection which divided the route to go for the docks and the villages. As they want to take the road towards the village, they heard some noise like people were fighting. It immediately made them alert.

She asked one of the bodyguard to go check on the situation. After few minutes he came back, When she asked him whats going on he started hesitating. On further questioning she came to knew they are slave traders and few slaves ran away. some of them are caught again and that is the source of the ruckus.

Being from Modern world Slavery is something she hates the most. From Memories she knows its common in this era. Every worker in their household also contain employment contract but its different from slave contract. She cant go on preaching equal status to everyone but still being forced into slavery is not something she can stomach easily.

She went forward to take a look which make the others alert. With no other option they followed her.

What she saw makes her hair rise.
