"Why were you there?" he asked.

Guan Xi continued, "I... I like acting. I'm in the drama club at school and I actually act as a stunt double for a movie being shot on the outskirts of the city. It was Producer Xu from the production team who suggested that I go to the club tonight."

She paused for a second before saying, "He said that if I accompany him for a few drinks, he would give me a role with lines. I figured that since it was only a few drinks, it'll be okay. Acting is my dream and he's giving me a chance to make that happen."

It wasn't entirely a lie. She really wanted to be an actress and that was one of the reasons why she went with that creepy geezer.

It was understandable that she'd be easily tricked into accompanying someone for drinks.

Xiao Jiuyan got so angry when he heard this that he didn't know whether to laugh or hit something.

The corners of his lips curled up into a menacing smile. "Did you even stop to think what could happen with 'just a drink'?"
