[Author Note: Man I feel bad for New York. They about to get fucked. Also, I know I said this chapter was gonna be long. But, well? I lied. (Actually, I wrote so much that If I would've kept everything in one chapter it would have been 5k words long, and I know people on web novel like short chapters so yeah) Also, I changed the name of the fanfic to the "The Last Kryptonian". The New cover is made by the amazing and talented author ReaIity, please go check out her story "Throne Of Time". ]

When Gods Fight, It's the Mortals who suffer.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(New York)
(UN Headquarters)
The President of the United States of America sat on a circular table in front of a gigantic screen showing the events happening outside currently.
Next to him sat General Ross, Nick Fury, and several members of the President's advisors and cabin.
Right now on the other side of the planet, Nations were getting ready to launch missiles towards the alien ship.
As the President of the United States, the President should have been in a bunker by now, however, when asked to do so, he refused. Saying that he should be out there with the rest of his people, however, he did insist upon placing his family in the bunker, much to their displeasure.
"General how much longer until the launch sequence begins?" The President asked looking at the General for confirmation.
"Not long sir, we're just making sure our attack will be coordinated with other nations, otherwise we risk diminishing our attack power. " The General responded looking at the gigantic screen in front them, not even sparing the President a glance.
Nick Fury tsked in his chair in frustration, knowing fully well that this attack will fail miserably.
Which is why he brought a certain transmitter pager with him just in case.
Nick Fury went to voice his discomfort with this frankly stupid decision, but before he could do that he was interrupted by one of the staff members coming in and shouting.
"10 seconds until launch!"
Sighing the President just nodded towards the staff member and motioned his head towards the gigantic screen.
Nodding the staff member typed something on one of the keyboards in front of the control center in the back of the room and pulling out a counter on the top left of the screen.
There was silence throughout the room as the counter began counting down from 10.
No one knew what to say, this was the first launch of any nuclear arsenal towards a living object since Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
And it wasn't just them launching nukes, it was the whole world, against a common enemy.
Once the countdown went to zero and the missiles were launched Nick Fury decided to speak.
"Just for Pete's sake. When this goes sideways and fucks us in the ass, just know that I told you so."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(30 minutes after the missiles impacted the Black Zero Ship)
Silence.
Eerily silence.
After confirmation that all the missiles had impacted the ship, instead of people celebrating all of them instead sat in silence.
They could feel it.
The feeling of death creeping towards them.
"Talk to me! What's the situation with the ship, is it gone!? Damaged!? Damn It fucking talk!" The President shouted towards his staff members in panic.
A staff member who was previously looking at a smaller monitor in front of him displaying the ship through satellite, looked at the president shaking before gulping and saying.
"W-w-well the g-good n-news is the ship has been atomized," He said stuttering.
"And the bad?" Nick Fury asked.
Gulping even harder and beginning to sweat the staff member decided to finally speak.
"W-w-w-w-well nine unidentifiable objects are now heading straight towards New York in hypersonic speeds" He finally stuttered out.
"And?" Nick Fury further inquired.
"They all look like humans"
There was silence in the room for a couple of seconds, before pandemonium stuck.
Everyone was running around screaming like little children, papers were thrown around, people were talking over each other, some were even crying.
However, before it could escalate further. Fury shot a bullet from his gun towards the ceiling, effectively scaring and silencing people down with a bang.
"Calm your motherfucking asses, and sit your motherfucking asses down."
Taking a deep breath to calm himself, Nick Fury took his phone out and dialed a number.
The phone was immediately picked up once the first ring rang as if the person on the other line was waiting for Fury to call them.
"Sir." A smooth feminine voice was heard saying.
"Hill, I need you to get every single hellicarrier towards new york pronto, get ready this is about to get messy" Fury ordered before taking out the transmitter pager and pressing the button.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zod expected a lot of things to happen once he came to Earth.
He expected the humans to panic.
He expected them to hate him.
He expected them to fear him.
And he expected them to denounce him.
But he never expected for them to have the actual balls to attack him and his ship.
"Stupid decision on my part, then again I'm out of practice on invasions, and I did underestimate them," Zod thought as he and his 8 other crewmates were falling towards the earth in hypersonic speeds.
Zod wasn't afraid of what would happen once he lands, under the yellow sun he knew that he was basically a god, and he also knew none of his soldiers were either.
Not to mention they were made to not fear death.
He was however enraged.
When humans attacked everything in, on, and near the ship were atomized, including but not limited to the world engine.
Taking with it any hope of Krypton revival with it.
Looking ahead of him Zod saw that he was heading straight towards a huge skyscraper.
"And for that, whether they were right or wrong with their attack it's very pleasant to break something from time to time"
An earth-shattering boom was heard.
The earth split in two.
A fire raged anew.
And the world screamed.
-----------------------------------------------------
Jack was a salaryman
Black hair, brown eyes, average height, average weight, average face.
Overall you wouldn't look twice at him if you passed while walking.
Jack was a very average person.
He had a wife, and two kids, both boys.
One was named Jimmy after his grandfather, and the other was named Timmy after his's wife's father.
Jack lived in New York, so the rent wasn't cheap, and some days were hard on him and his family.
But they managed, and they had each other for those tough times.
Jack was asleep when the world found out that they were not alone, so he didn't really get the full experience others got when the broadcast was made.
But he did know things were serious.
However, he never thought things would lead up to what was happening right now.
It all started when an emergency evacuation was called.
And it wasn't like how it's usually where just a small part of the city or a neighborhood is evacuated.
No, the whole state of New York was called for evacuation.
Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Stan Island.
All called for evacuation.
8.3 Million people were called for evacuation.
Sirens. Tornado Sirens. Were blaring throughout New York.
Panic abounded, and savagery alight.
Roads were packed full of cars causing catastrophic traffic jams.
Some were smart and saw what was happening and instead decided to flee on foot.
And some were just trying to force there way through traffic. Specifically the semi truckers.
People didn't care who they were hurting or who they were stepping on, on their way out.As long as they can save themselves then who the fuck cares?
The police and military were trying to bring some peace and order to this situation.
"Keep calm, and move orderly, everything is fine," They said.
Yeah tell that to 8.3 million people filled with panic and see how they react.
There was a quote Jack heard once that described this situation perfectly.
"Panic implies that there is no rational thought taking place. That we are frozen and incapable of adjusting. Powerless to logic, and subject to seemingly unthinkable behavior. "
Roads were jammed. All flights out the state were already booked(of course for ridiculous prices since even at a time of great adversity human greed will always win, and the airplane companies raised the prices hoping to make big bucks off people trying to survive)
So Jack stayed. He had no options but to stay. Getting out of New York was an impossible task to do without running the risk of harm or worse.
Things were fine for a while.
Sure Jack heard the occasional helicopter passing above or the occasional car crash and shouts from where he was at, but at least they weren't getting bulldozed around.
They were safe.
Were.
Past tense.
It all started when huge flying aircraft carriers started appearing throughout the city, flanked by a slew of fighter jets, tanks, and helicopters.
Miltary cars started appearing all over the city, with hundreds of soldiers guns ready after them.
Something was happening, something big, Jack knew that.
Jack was sitting on a chair, next to his wife on the balcony overlooking things when it happened.
Jack saw nine burning figures in the distance, heading towards New York at ridiculous speeds.
One second.
One Second was all it took.
The Empire state building, The New York Times Building, Woolworth Building, Center Park Tower, Chrysler Building, Flatiron Building, 53W53, and 40 Wall Street.
All gone, and all it took was a second.
Trillions of dollars, and millions of lives gone.
But it didn't stop there.
Those same nine figures started to wreck the absolute fuck out of New York.
Buildings were cut in half sometimes from them flying into them or lasers cutting them in half, Streets were demolished, People were treated like ragdolls.
They treated the Earth like it was their toy.
And Jack was terrified.
Guns, Bombs, missiles, even that weird light/laser thing those flying aircraft carries shot at them couldn't even scratch them.
By the time Jack could move again without pissing himself in fear it was too late.
He didn't even get to the chance to blink, all he saw was a black shadow in the corner of his eyes, and then the building was cut in half.
They were falling.
No.
The whole building was falling, not just them.
They were gonna die, Jack knew that.
There was no way they were getting out of this.
It would seem the Gods were angry with them, otherwise, they wouldn't have done this.
After all, what could those figures be but Gods?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blinking, Jack looked around blurry-eyed and confused.
The world seemed to be upside down to Jack he couldn't make heads or tails of it.
Was he dead?
Was this the afterlife?
Voices.
A lot of Voices.
Jack started to hear voices, of people, hundreds of them at that.
All were talking, some screaming, some crying, and some laughing.
Blinking again to clear his eyes from their blurriness, Jack looked around again.
Immedaltiy noticing his wife, and kids, next to him also looking around confused, then he noticed that they were on the street five blocks away from where their building was supposed to be.
Then he noticed. ohh he noticed.
Hundreds.
Hundreds of people were there, right next to them all looking like they just went through hell and came back. And all of them were looking up.
A black figure, probably the same one who cut Jack's building in half like a kit kat bar, was floating probably 5 feet above them, but he wasn't alone.
Another black-clad figure was also there, the figure was noticeably much slimmer than the other, Jack immediately noticed her long Black hair identifying her correctly as female, she was also floating 5 feet above them facing the other black-clad figure, her red cape swaying behind her from the air currents. The sun looked to be drawn to her, shining it's bright light towards her as if to highlight her from the rest.
They were talking, Jack could see that, but his ears were shot to hell from all the explosions, and the noises of buildings falling to hear what they were saying.
Or at least all of what they were saying.
Jack could hear snippets of the conversation going on between them.
"...Join me...Alexan-El...this world is mine....."
Jack didn't know what else he was saying but based on what he was hearing this was an invasion, and the black-clad figure was trying to make the other Black-clad figure with the red cape to join him.
Suddenly Jack's ears popped his hearing coming back almost immediately. Only to hear words that gave him and judging by the faces of the others around him who could still hear.
Hope.
"This world is yours? Who decided that?"
