Amanda Caron (3)

Lola crouched down to Mia's level and hugged her as she wiped her tears. "Hush… don't cry, I'm sorry I threw your doll."

Even so, Mia was hung up on the new pretty doll that she had lost even before the day ended and wanted to pick it from the trash can. Lola held her tiny hands and explained, "I don't like mommy's boyfriend, so I don't like anything from him either. But don't worry, Mommy will buy us more toys later. They will be prettier and lovelier, and we can play with them all day."

Mia sniffled and nodded, much to Lola's relief. She didn't like it when Mia cried, but she just couldn't stand that doll.
