"I think you've misunder..." Before Halia could explain herself, Pierre signaled to his men and started walking out of the club.
Halia swallowed her words and quickly followed behind.
After they stepped outside, Halia led the men straight over to the willow tree where Jackson was waiting.
It was a warm spring night and there wasn't much of a breeze, so Jackson looked quite comfortable standing under the tree.
"I'm impressed Mr. Wu," the French man praised as he clapped his hands and approached Jackson.
Jackson smirked and pointed to the vest that was still on his body, "If you're impressed, then please remove this. It's getting a little hot," he joked.
Pierre immediately laughed and stretched out his hand towards one of his men. The man quickly pulled out a bunch of keys and placed it in his hand.
Pierre then handed the keys to Halia, "I'll let Sister-in-law unlock them for you."
Halia held onto the keys and looked at Jackson awkwardly.
She then walked up to him and started unlocking his vest.
Jackson held back a smile and whispered beside Halia's ear, "You don't seem surprised by the way he called you Sister-in-law. Why didn't you correct him? Are you...acknowledging that you're my woman?"
Halia blushed and avoided looking at Jackson's face. "I didn't get the chance to correct him yet. I'll do it later," she replied as she concentrated on the locks.
At that moment, Jackson suddenly leaned in towards Halia's lips and took a sniff. Halia's heart raced as she looked at the man in front of her. "Did you drink?" he asked worriedly.
"Just a little, it was the only way to get him out here," Halia explained.
Jackson straightened his body and looked down at the woman in front of him. She had done a lot for him today. If not for her, he would be dead already.
How could he keep trying to push her away when all he wanted to do was hold her in his arms?
Unfortunately, he still didn't know what her true identity was.
"I think the Boss will be impressed with your performance today, Mr. Wu," Pierre suddenly said as he watched Halia unlock the last lock on Jackson's vest.
Halia then handed the keys back to the French man while Jackson removed the vest from his body.
"Lucky you succeeded today. It would have been a shame for you to abandon Sister-in-law," Pierre teased as he scanned his eyes across Halia.
Halia left her coat in the club, so her curvy figure was still visible in her little black dress. Jackson quickly covered the woman with his coat.
"When can I meet Mr. Durand?" Jackson asked in seriousness.
"Let's find a place to sit first," Pierre laughed as he started walking away.
Jackson and Halia quickly followed the man.
They eventually arrived at a 24-hour coffee shop which was relatively empty. After all, who drank coffee at that time of night? Didn't they want to sleep?
The French man told his men to wait outside while he found a table inside to sit down with Jackson and Halia. He then pulled out a folded piece of paper from his pants and unfolded it.
"Mr. Durand needs a bomb that can break something like this."
Opened up on the table was a diagram of a safe. But, it was no ordinary safe. It was obviously a strong high tech one with multiples layers of protection. Jackson was curious who the safe belonged to, but he did not ask. He simply glanced at Halia and Halia gently nodded her head.
Jackson had witnessed Halia's skills that day. If someone could create a bomb capable of breaking the safe in the diagram, he was confident that she could do it. And, she seemed pretty confident too.
"When does Mr. Durand need it by?" he asked.
"You have 4 days," the French man replied.
"Tell Mr. Durand that I need to see him in person for the deal. Otherwise, it's not going ahead. I've shown him enough respect, it's time he shows me some too," Jackson demanded.
"Don't worry, Mr. Durand is excited to meet you."
"In that case, I'll see you in 4 days," Jackson said. He then grabbed Halia's hand and dragged her out of the coffee shop without looking back...
He didn't want to implicate her before. But now, she was his only hope...
