Blood oath

Erza went back to her room after dropping off Mikasa to her and her mother's room after puttying the demon cores. She opened the door only to see Celesta drinking a cup of tea and reading a book about warfare. Erza almost forgot that she was in the middle of a powerful war. She closed the door behind her which caught Celesta attention.

"So how was training?" Celesta asked. "Full so many surprises, she caught onto my techniques quite fast, she really is gifted," Erza replied.

"So how is the construction going?" Erza questioned. "it should be finished tomorrow morning," Celesta replied calmly. "Wow, you're quite the fast builder aren't you," Erza laughed.

There was a knock on the door and Erza decided to go and open it. To her surprise, there were two masked people bowing at her.

"Rise, who are you and how do you know me?" Erza quickly asked. The two hooded people lowered the masks revealing their identity.

"Eveline and Luka?!" Erza exclaimed. Erza welcomed them in and checked the hallway before closing the door. Celesta looked at the two trying to remember where she recalled seeing these two before. Luka sat on the bed and Eveline was leaning her body against the door with her armed cross.

"What are you doing here, did something happen?" Erza asked in a concerned voice. "Nothing happened, just let me explain then you can ask questions at the end," Luka answered. Erza went to sit by him to comfort him just in case he was trying to act brave.

Luka started to explain everything as Erza ken her mouth shut and Celesta listened intently as she sat down at the table drinking her tea.

Both Luka's and Eveline's parent died trying to stop Wisterian battleships from entering Elkian border. Tears started sliding down the young princesses cheeks. Everything was on Erza, she was the online who could take the throne. Sometimes, Erza hated her heritage because she was tasked with so many responsibilities, but then remember her parents risked their lives to save her. There was no excuse to run away from responsibility. She needed powerful allies to completely defeat their enemies. Luka wiped away her tears and gave her a gentle smile knowing what she was thinking, " You long to set the world straight, and your subordinates will help you carve the way." Erza was confused because she didn't think she had any subordinates. Erza looked at Luka and Eveline and finally understood what they wanted to do. They wanted to make a blood oath. Celesta's eyes widened after it hit her as well.

"I know what your intentions are, but don't you think the princess is a bit too young to be doing this?" Celesta asked whilst raising her thin eyebrows.

"I agree with Celesta, what if I mess up, and you and Eveline suffer for my mistakes, are you sure you want to be bound to me till death?" Asked Erza wordily.

"That's just absurd, you don't have to take the blood oath, you can just join my court and serve me, a blood oath is eternal and I don't want you to be enslaved to me," Erza carried on. Eveline glided towards Erza and knelt down in from of her.

"Your majesty, our heart is devoted to you and only you, we want to stay bu your side to whatever end, not just go to meetings and suggest changes or plans, we want to fight for you as well. Your majesty, my brother and I have trained for years in a cold sweat just for this moment, please do not let what motivated us to go to waste," said Eveline. Her voice was smooth and calm as well as very persuading. Erza took out a dagger from her boots, "Very well."

Erza cut her palm, and drops of blood were sliding down her hands coating the carpet with fresh royal blood.

"Do you promise to serve my court, Eveline Havillard, from now until the day you die?" Erza asked. Her voice was no ordinary voice, she had the voice a queen. "I do, until my last breath and the world beyond, I Eveline Havillard, will promise to serve your court for eternity and to whatever end," Eveline replied with no regret. She took Erza's palm in her hands and lower her mouth to her skin. For a heartbeat, something lightning-bright snapped through her and then settled. A thread binding them together, tighter with each pull Eveline took of her blood. Taking three sips of her blood, the bleeding stopped.

Then Luka knelt before her. She took a deep breath and cut herself again.

"Do you promise to serve my court, Luka Havillard, from know until the day you die?" Erza asked again. "I do, until my last breath and the world beyond, I Luka Havillard, will promise to serve your court for eternity to whatever end," Luka replied with not even a hint of regret. He took Erza's hands and lowered his mouth to her skin. The same feeling of something lightning-bright and the thread binding appeared again. When Luka took three sips of her blood, Erza's hand immediately stopped bleeding again.

"You are now bound to me, Eveline and Luka Havillard, for eternity and to whatever end."

Erza smiled but then her face turned serious again. "Six days from now, we will travel to the capital, so be prepared and gather any weapons, poison or anything you could use to defend yourself, I also recommend you buy a horse unless you want to walk on foot for few days," Said Erza. "I am going to bed, Celesta can tell you what I have been up to for the past two days." Erza left and went to her separate bedroom.
