Blank stares were the only response that Alaric received at first. After a moment, Karen burst into laughter.

"Hahaha!! That's a good one, Alaric. Seriously, why have you asked us here?"

Alaric's face didn't change, and Karen's mocking smile faded. Eli looked intensely at Alaric with anger.

"What are you doing, man? You know that's wrong! That's why we're fighting in the first place!"

Alaric responded, "is it wrong? Am I fighting for that? Queen Irigia told me that she plans to wipe out the Trostan Kingdom now that they're weak instead of just stopping the war. Can't you see it?! It's an endless cycle of one nation fighting to defeat another, regardless of the reason."

Eli shook his head, "I can't stand by this. I can't stand by you if you choose to do this. I'm fighting for peace! Not more war!"
