Most people might find Li Mingzhu a bit abrasive but those who really love her know that it all comes from her high principles and morals. In reality, Li Mingzhu is the kind of person who was very loyal and protective over the people she cared about. Or at least she was that kind of person before she died saving a little boy from a car crash. Thankfully for her, Fate decided to smile down at such a righteous soul and give her a second chance at life through transmigration. Unfortunately, she ends up in one of her most shameful guilty pleasures, a harem style romance simulator that her brother used to play. Not that she’s actually into that sort of thing of course! She only remembers it because so many of the Female Leads had such great potential! Potential that would get wasted the second they got within five feet of the protagonist. Now that’s she struck in the game, Li Mingzhu isn’t just going to stand around while every girl around her turns brain dead at the mere sight of the protagonist’s pretty face! Watch her as she fights against the game’s design and saves the Female Leads from their fates of becoming one-dimensional characters! ... Too bad for her the task proves harder than she thought. Especially since everyone, including the protagonist, keeps misjudging her intentions. ———————————————————— Female Lead #1: I have now decided to stop living only for the protagonist! MC: Yes! Female Lead #1: I’ve decided to live only for his best friend instead. MC: NO! (`Д´) ———————————————————— ML: You don’t have to be jealous of all those other girls. My heart only belongs to you now. MC: HUH!? ———————————————————— System: Congratulations on your new relationship! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ MC: I thought you were on my side! System: Oh but I am~ (¬‿¬) ————————————————————
Li Mingzhu looked around her room, waiting for something to happen. "So uh, what do I do now?"
{Why, get ready for school of course! (◠‿◠✿)}
"I died and you're telling me that I still have to go to school?"
{Of course you do. How can you play Sweetheart's Academy if you never go to school in the first place?}
Li Mingzhu sighed and got up from the floor. "What is Sweetheart's Academy anyway?" It sounded familiar but for the life of her, she couldn't remember where she heard that title from. She made her way to the connected bathroom to start her day. As she stood in front of the bathroom mirror she couldn't help but take in her reflection.
[Hmm, for some reason I thought I would look different.]
Nothing about her had really changed. Her hair was the same medium length brown it always has been and her eyes were still their usual cold brown. Though her curls looked more exaggerated yet neater and her face looked rounder and softer than before.
"Hey System, if I was transmigrated into the game than why do I look the same as before?"
{I felt that perhaps you wouldn't feel comfortable as one of the female leads so I took a background NPC and modeled them after you!}
"Huh, impressive... By the way, you never answered my first question." She asked before turning the faucet on. As Li Mingzhu started to brush her teeth, she heard the system make a whirling sound before answering.
{Oh dear, you don't remember. Well, I'm happy to tell you that you've transmigrated into Sweetheart's Academy, a harem dating simulator!}
Li Mingzhu began choking on her toothpaste.
{Oh My! Please don't die again! (〇o〇;)}
She glared as she wiped her mouth. Unfortunately, she was now remembering where she heard that title from. It was some harem game that she saw her little brother play on his laptop one day. There was something about it that drew Li Mingzhu to it (Plus she was very VERY bored that afternoon) so she decided to check it out for herself. She barely got through the prologue before she felt the urge to break her computer.
"Why the hell did you put me in a game like that!?"
{Huh? This game was chosen because it left one of the biggest impressions on you compared to any other.}
"Not because I actually liked it! It was one of the worst game I've ever played!" Li Mingzhu wasn't being dramatic either. The designs were pretty enough but the plot was basic and mindnumbing. There were hints during the beginning that there were more to the plot but Li Mingzhu had seen enough to know that whatever it was wasn't worth sticking around for.
Plus she already played through enough of the game to know that she detested the harem genre. Frankly, the only thing that made the game interesting was ironically the female leads themselves. Li Mingzhu unlocked enough background behind to see that they all had potential to be interesting and well-rounded characters. Of course, all that potential went down the drain the second the protagonist showed any interest in them. What a waste of perfectly good female characters!
{(;・∀・) Oh dear that is a problem... Well, maybe you can still enjoy the game? Perhaps even improve it to your standards?}
"Sweetheart's Academy is a dating sim whose target audience is straight boys." Li Mingzhu deadpanned as she made her way to the closet. "I doubt I'm going to enjoy any of this."
{There.... there were also male side characters in the game. (´∀`;)}
"The fact that I don't remember any of them does not bode well for them. But I do like your idea of improving things around here." She hummed as she opened the closet door. The smile immediately dropped from her face once she saw what was inside.
"Uh, System," She said as picked out one of her school uniforms. "What the hell is this?"
{Your school uniform of course!}
"No, it's not. I don't know what the hell this is but it is NOT a school uniform." She grimaced at the 'uniform' in her hands. The shirt was way too tight and the skirt's hemline ended at her mid-thigh. Even the bright red scarf looked ridiculous! It's like the creator never saw a schoolgirl outside of these damn games.
"Can I at least get some pants?"
{...}
[I guess that's a no... Looks like I'm going to have to depend on stockings and shorts.] With a heavy heart Li Mingzhu got dressed and ready for school like she usually did.
{Are you ready yet? I can't wait to get you on your adventure already!}
[You're awfully friendly for a robotic system.]
"Almost, hold on." Li Mingzhu told it as she tied a yellow scarf with a floral pattern in her hair. She took one last look at herself in her vanity mirror and despite herself, she smiled.
[Huh, I look pretty good for a dead girl.]
"Ok system, I'm ready. Let's get started on this 'adventure' you keep talking about."
{...}
"System?"
Suddenly there was a loud pounding on her room door and Li Mingzhu nearly jumped at the sound.
"Big Sister, are you ready yet!? Mom says you're going to be late for school!"
