Ethan Lu blinked numerous times as he quickly scanned the seductive Lisa Jing. In his mind, she was his type -- definitely, his type. However, after seeing how much skin she had already exposed, somehow, Ethan didn't find himself interested nor did he had the urge to flirt with Lisa Jing.
"Uh, hi -- nice to meet you." Ethan Lu offered his hands for a handshake which Lisa Jing accepted without a doubt. After a second, Ethan released her hand as if she had some kind of a diseases which made Kevin Woo squints his eyes.
Of course, his abrupt action left Lisa Jing's hand hanging that made her smiled awkwardly as she retracted her hand. Surely, she didn't saw that coming; Ethan evidently repelling her. Yet, she neither complained nor showed her displeasure as she could not offend the young master of the Lu family.
"Uh, nice meeting you too, young master Lu. Uhm, Kevin, I'll go with my friends over there. Nice party again." Lisa Jing smiled that didn't reach her eyes as she excused herself.
"Oh, haha, sure; see ya around." Kevin Woo awkwardly laughed as he nodded to permit Lisa Jing's obvious escape. The moment Lisa Jing left, Kevin Woo darted his dubious eyes back to his buddy who was surely acting strange.
"Are you... really Ethan Lu that I know? not an impostor?"
Ethan Lu furrowed his brows as he looked at the investigative gaze of Kevin Woo. By the looks of it, Ethan Lu wasn't aware of his unusual behavior. From everyone's information, Ethan's first or rather, he always ended up finding his date first before he could even grab himself a drink.
Which is why, Kevin Woo and Lisa Jing felt weird as Ethan didn't hit on Lisa Jing the instant he saw her.
"What do you mean?" Ethan asked. He then picked up a glass of wine from the waiter that passed by him with a smile.
"What do I mean?" Kevin Woo started reenacting the scene of how fast and uninterested Ethan with Lisa Jin before he looked at him again with a 'that's what I meant' expression.
"Ahh, no, not today." Ethan shook his head as his gaze scanned the whole booming dance floor.
'Not today? I never heard him say that before?' Kevin Woo blurted out inwardly as he peered at his friend with a dismayed glint. Kevin Woo decided not to probe any further or he might get a heart attack by Ethan's weirdness.
One and a half hour had passed by since Ethan arrived at Kevin's party. Alas, no matter how many drinks he downed and get along with everyone else, the initial reason on why he attended wasn't resolve! He was utterly bored!
Inside a private lounge, Ethan together Kevin Woo and his two other friends were having a peaceful billiards with drinks away from the party. Seeing that Ethan was still acting strange, Kevin Woo instigated.
"Yo, Ethan, you've been acting strange all throughout the night. I wonder what could have possibly make you act like this, heh."
"Ha! Now that you mention it, it's the first time we don't have any ladies company." Another trusted friend of Ethan, named Chris Yu chimed in as he runs his fingers through his semi long straight hair that reached his ears. His eyes were long and sharp, a narrow nose, and a chiseled cheekbones. All in all, he doesn't look less attractive than the three of them.
"Is it a what or a who?" Another man named Elliott Gong with his blond dyed hair, several piercings on his ears yet, despite his overwhelming outfit that's akin to a superstar, he still looked charming.
"Oh, I think karma has finally arrived if its a who, heh?" Kevin Woo grinned as the three of them diverted their eyes on Ethan who was positioned to hit the white cue ball.
He didn't respond immediately as Ethan Lu focused on striking the cue ball with the tapered stick before he launched his hit and successfully going on a three point.
"Just because I had enough fooling around with those ladies, doesn't mean it falls to the word strange." Ethan Lu muttered as he chalked the tip of the striking tip of the billiard stick. However, his three buddies looked at him with disdain as they received his unconvincing words.
"It is strange… if you're the one who said that." Kevin Woo dissed as he thought his ears were deceiving him.
"Also, I don't want her to think that all guys are the same like me." Ethan once again positioned himself to make a strike once again.
"Her?!" The three guys who heard him say his last statement questioned in unison. Their interest were instantly piqued as they fawned around Ethan.
Kevin Woo: "Say, who is this girl?"
Elliot Gong: "Uh huh, I knew it! It's a who not what!"
Chris Yu: "Is she pretty?"
"What the -- give me some space man! It's not what you think, she's a friend!" Ethan who can't focus to continue the game straightened his back and stood firmly as he held his billiard stick on the side. Seeing the interest from his friend's dazzling faces, he let out a heavy sigh.
"A friend?!" Alas, Ethan's 'clarification' on the woman's positioned in his life shook them to the core. They spat in unison, "Since when did you became friends with a girl?!"
Their unified question almost deafened Ethan which made his whole exquisite face distort to a new kind of level.
