Chapter 67: The future is scary, mommy, let's live in the past!

Xavier frowned, then waved the students to go back to their rooms.

Xavier was left in the room with his trusted helpers.

"Should I stay here?" A very beautiful voice said

Xavier turned his eyes to one of the most beautiful women he had seen. Her body looked like it had been molded to perfection, her Frosty blonde hair as if it was made by Sun rays and her crystal ice blue eyes.

"Emma, you have changed your ways, I trust you to be here." Xavier said.

"You know that's not what I meant, I'll soon leave, I need to find the lost girl I once met, and help her find her ways so she doesn't become like I was. So I'll be leaving soon." Emma Frost said.

"Nonetheless, this place will always have its doors open for you, so it's. your home, you can stay." Xavier said.

Emma didn't say anything more.

The teachers just patiently waited for Jean to calm down.

Jean started to realise that she might just have had a bad dream. So she started feeling unsure about what to say.

Xavier felt her uncertainty.

"Speak, first, and let's think about it then." He said in a comforting voice.

"I... saw a war, it was on a scale I haven't seen before. it was between four people that were big enough to shadow the sky. Between them, armies of alien forces fought, and in the middle of them was the earth. All of us were fighting in the crossfire..." At this point she was very uncertain because of the next part of the dream, so she didn't speak.

"What happened then?" Xavier asked, seeing how uncertain she became once again.

"Superman... was at the forefront protecting earth from the attacking forces... in his black suit. He had long black hair and a beard.. But I'm certain it was him." She said, knowing that they might just think that She was having a bad dream.

"Superman..." Emma Frost whispered. One of the reasons she had turned on her bad ways, was because Superman once saved her, with a bright smile.

He had saved HER, a villain, told her that everything was going to be alright.

The brightness of his presence as he flew away imprinted itself on her and the seed of goodness grew until she no longer wanted to do the evil she had. So for redemption she had turned to X-Men.

And yesterday, that light of hers had died.

As she fell into her own thoughts, Everyone in the room all started to think.

"I don't think this is just any dream..." Xavier said, as he remembered what state Jean was in when they found her.

"We should contact the Avengers, they might have an idea of what to make of this." Storm said, finally stepping forward and speaking her mind.

"Yes, you're right. Anything else you can tell us Jean?" Xavier spoke.

"... I think... they were fighting for yellow, purple and blue stones... But I'm not certain. Those stones weren't normal, those stones were scarier than the three giants fighting in the sky." She said.

Jean truly felt like she had unnecessarily worried everyone with her dream, but that dream felt too vivid and real, and the feeling she got from it, it felt like she was looking through time and space.

One week later, Central Park, and the whole of New York was packed with people. People had flown in from all over the world for this day.

Everyone was turned towards Central Park, the place that had once been the grave site of Superman... this was his second funeral but this time it was confirmed by everyone alive.

Closest to the big diamond shaped stone with an "S" on it, stood the mayor, president, the Avengers and family members of Superman.

"7 Days ago, a man that has defined what a superhero is, died. He died protecting this planet and its inhabitants. He died, shielding us from the evils of the world. That day will from this day forth be known as the day of darkness. and we chose today as his funeral, because today is the day his parents celebrated adopting him, today will be known as the day of Light." As the President spoke words of respect and reverence, more and more people had cried.

Superman had saved dozens of people, if not hundreds of them everyday for a decade. He had even saved the whole city and world multiple times.

Almost everyone in New York had seen, or spoken to him because of his welcoming nature.

After the President spoke his words he invited Marianne and Joseph Collins to speak.

Marianne and Joseph stood in front all the world, that was waiting for them to speak, but they didn't speak as Marianne just stood there crying. After two minutes, almost everyone was crying, so in the end Joseph stepped forward.

"To you, Superman died, but to us, He was Simply Kevin Collins, a beloved son and a beloved brother. We tried to have children for the longest of time, but we couldn't..." Joseph said as he smiled bitterly looking at his wife.

"Then only after adopting Kevin in did we have twins, Kevin became a miracle worker, we used to say. But those words were only as a joke until one day I found him as a three year old, carrying my 3 ton tractor!" Joseph said as he chuckled, many chuckled with him almost as if they could see the scene in front of them.

After speaking for a few minutes about the man, Kevin B. Collins was, every fell in love not only with Superman, but Kevin As well. He was an upright young man, and the world lost a beautiful soul.

After Joseph spoke, his wife stepped forward.

"A mother's biggest worry is her child, thank you everyone for loving and supporting my son." She simply said, and then they stepped down. towards his grave and took out Kevin's two Superman suits and put them inside the ground. After that, they filled the ground with dirt.

After everyone started leaving, Xavier found Natasha Romanoff and her team leaving as well, so he rolled his wheelchair towards them.

"Have you come to a conclusion about the matter I spoke about?" Xavier asked.

"Yes, it's better, not not speak about this. If what you say comes to be true, we have to prepare, but keep it a secret because it's better for people to not get false hopes." Natasha, the black widow said as she looked at the leaving civilians.

"You're right, it's also better if we don't spread panic, we'll follow your lead from now on." Xavier said as he turned around and left.

Unbeknownst to everyone, beneath ground, inside the the folded white and gold Superman suit, was a few skin cells that were smudged against his suits during his previous fights. These cells were absolutely useless, but amongst them, there was another cell.

A stem cell! Containing the full DNA of Kevin B. Collins. This stem cell looked almost shriveled, as if it's thirsty for energy, it's shaking as if it wants to do something but can't because it doesn't have energy.

As Laura reached her home in New York, she stopped in front of the door. She hadn't walked into this house since the day Kevin asked her to be his wife.. Holding onto Kara that was sleeping, she took a heavy breath before walking in.

Her tears continued to fall as she silently cried. And as she reached her bedroom, she found one of Kevin's t-shirts on his bed, and his glasses on top of the t-shirt. She picked the t-shirt up and cried into it.

Kara that was laying on the bed, woke up and found the glasses while her mother was crying. She started playing around with it until the glasses started shaking.

Laura instantly noticed something strange and picked up her baby while stepping back.

The glasses started shining and a small, car sized spaceship came out of it, before flying though the window and disappearing into the sky.

Laura just stood there confused for a minute before hurriedly picking up her phone and calling her parents in law.

Kevin's space flew outside the atmosphere and flew towards the sun placing itself in the middle of earth and the sun.

"Initiating photon amplifier system!!" It started peeping, sadly, the sound of it was not heard in space.

The spaceship suddenly became invisible, and nothing of it could be seen. But placing itself in the perfect coordination, the Sundays that hit its surface area were reflected from it towards the earth.

As the skies started darkening, many people noticed that a small place in the sky lit up as sunlight shone down on Superman's grave.

The sunlight continued to shine on Superman's grave throughout all the night until scientists and government workers tried to find out what was going on.

For weeks they worked on understanding what this phenomenon was but the only thing they found was that the light that constantly shined on Superman's grave was stronger than normal and should be avoided. Thankfully the rays only shone on the grave site nowhere else.

This had made the news, and people took it as a sign that superman was truly holy in a sense.

In the end they even had to dig up the grave to see if the spruce of the light was from there but no one found anything.

A few months later, the spaceship finally started running out of energy so it turned back to earth. By the time it reached the atmosphere it died, and fell towards the coldest place on earth.

After falling deep into the snow, the space ship turned into a diamond-like structure with an S on it.

A few moments later the whole area started shaking.

Unnoticed by anyone, a small icy, snowy mountain rose up that night in the deepest parts of Antarctica. And inside the mountain was a gigantic, alien-like castle with a big "S" on the walls.

On one of the walls was a big screen on it with a text that said "Estimated time for awakening... 10 years."

No one was aware of the new ice mountain that had grown, and waited for its master to return.

The world continued day by day, until Superman became a Bedside story, an example of heroism and a happy memory for mankind.

THE END!
