FLASHBACK (6) - The scene she could never forget

The bus stopped, and Kate and Ashton got down, holding hands.

"Kate, close your eyes"

"Eh? Why?"

"Just do as I say you idiot, why do you ask so many questions always?"

"Habit."

Kate closed her eyes. Ashton held her by her waist and scooped her up in a princess style position. Kate suddenly opened her eyes. "Ashton! What are you doing?!"

Ashton gave her a light peck on the lips and Kate instantly shut up. "Shhh... don't worry, just close your eyes"

Kate closed her eyes again. Ashton carried her to a place. After a 15 minute walk, he put Kate down and asked her to open her eyes.

Kate opened her eyes. In front of her was a scene she could never forget even if she tried to.

All around her was green grass, as far as she could see with patches of flowers in between. The scent of the flowers mingled with the wind and made the surroundings aromatic. In one corner there was a pond with fresh water flowing from a waterfall. Behind some trees was a group of deer and some fawns. Doves were eating seeds fallen down from the trees. Towards her right, she could see the entire forest area, lush green, the morning sky with the birds flying in the sky and chirping. She turned around and saw Ashton standing there with a picnic basket, a neat striped cloth spread on the grass, 2 cushions and a blanket.

"Liked it, Kitty Kat? "

Kate is already teary eyed. She nodded and ran towards Ashton and hugged him. "Thank you Ashton"

"You little girl, look at you, so happy just because of something like this. Such a kid you are, aren't you?"

"Shut up (sobs)"

Suddenly Ashton's stomach grumbles.

( Awkward silence)

"Hahahahhahahahahahahhahaa.....Hahahahaha!!!! " Kate started laughing loudly

"You didn't have your breakfast? You are so cute."

Ashton was a bit ashamed. 'You stupid stomach you had to grumble at such a time right?'

"Come let's eat!! Or you want me to hear another grumble? Hahahahhahaha "

"Yeah yeah, not funny Kitty Kat"

"Sorry sorry, let's eat"

Ashton and Kate sat down on the cloth. Ashton opened the basket and took out some ham, bread, sausages, butter and already prepared sandwiches. Along with it he had brought 'Swiss Chocolate Truffle Cake' , one of Kate's favorite flavors.

"Oh my god! Chocolate Truffle cake!!! I absolutely love it! How did you know?!"

"Well, I often saw you at our local bakery shop eating it. So I just guessed."

"Smart ass"

"I know"

"Let's dig in!!!! Yayyyy"

"Kate calm down! There are other animals nearby as well. Don't scare them"

"Oh yeah... WAIT!! WHAT DID YOU MEAN BY THERE ARE OTHER ANIMALS AS WELL? YOU MEAN TO SAY I AM AN ANIMAL???"

"At least you aren't that dumb"

"F*ck off Ashton"

Suddenly Ashton came close. "Kate, I am very nervous right now. I wanted to say this to you, since I first met you but I realized you're special and I should do this in a special way as well, so I brought you here"

Kate felt her heart beating faster as if it would come right out of her mouth anytime now.

"Ashton what do you mean?"

"Kate Brooke, I have fallen in love with you. I had fallen in love with you the first time I saw you, but never had the courage to tell you. I love every part of you. Your hair, your smile, your everything. I love the way you tease me, I love the way you say bitch, I love the way you start crying while you are happy. I love you Kate Brooke. Will you be my girlfriend?"

Kate was dumbfounded. Never would have she thought that Ashton was going to propose her all of a sudden. She thought he was pulling a prank on her, but the sincerity in his words and in his eyes couldn't be faked. Was he telling the truth?

"Ash.... Ashton... "

"You don't need to give me an answer now, I'll wait. I'll wait for you until you don't give me an answer. Even if it is no, I'll always love you"

Ashton was continuously speaking because he didn't want to hear a rejection. Kate understood that. She came closer and put her finger on his lips, silencing him up.

"Ashton Ken, I love you"
