Name Calling

My feet sank into the moss as I landed with a small thud.

I was in town a minute later and started toward the bar.

I was meeting Alex and Shopie there. "Kate!" I froze, "Kate!" I spun around on my heels.

My name was called again but it sounded more like a groan. My ears could pick up soft sounds easily but I was still learning how to identify where they come from.
