20. Chapter 6

Omen's POV

Virginia, Sherlock, Matty, Amyus and I stepped on the sand with blotched patches of wild grass and weeds dotting everywhere, before we gazed up at the colourful banner in front of us with block letters that spelled "WELCOME TO ECTASY".

There was a sea of people entering the circus. Among the throngs of people were stilt walkers in ridiculous colourful baggy outfits, clowns with large vibrant coloured afro wigs and big red noses performing magic tricks to a group of small children, fire breathing dancers and more experts who wowed their own audience with their skills. There were even exotic animal exhibitions from captured from all around the world.

"Those poor beasts trapped in those small cages." Yin mumbled sadly.

Many of my mesias agreed with her, causing a ruckus in my mind that gave me a mild headache.

"We haven't even look at the exhibitions and you are already jumping into conclusions." I answered them mentally. "Besides, we can't do anything to help them. I can't do anything that can affect this world."

"Really? Hmmm..." Envilia wondered.

I felt like retreating into my mind space to ask about her thoughts because of how suspicious she sounded. A group of children ran past us, laughing and pointing at the things around them in wonderment. Meanwhile, their parents were just a few steps behind them, looking fondly at their children.

"Come on, let's go!"

Virginia urged us as she took the first few steps and entered the grounds of the circus.

"Well, let's just enjoy ourselves."

Sherlock agreed before following her. Matty and Amyus tagged along. I shook myself out of my reverie and bounded after them.

"I wonder what we should see."

Matty asked as we scrutinised the wooden board where the map of the circus was pinned into it.

"Hey! The circus show is starting, let's go and get some good seats!"

"I heard the blue singer at the first part is the best, let's go quickly before all the seats are taken away!"

Listening to the voices around us, we instinctively glanced at each other in agreement before simultaneously following them. There was a hush of silence when we entered the tent hurriedly, found some seats and sat down. I took a glance around the big makeshift tent and found all the seats occupied before the lights went out like a snuffed out candlelight.

"Wow! Whoever this blue singer is, he sure is famous." Yang squealed with anticipation.

In the darkness, the spotlights suddenly switched on and shone down on a lone male standing at the front of the stage. He was clad in iridescent blue robes with a soft white feather scarf that wrapped around his neck comfortably. His black hair was slicked back and a blue diamond was painted on his left cheek.

"That must be the blue singer..." Shiro noted quietly.

His head was tilted to the front but his posture was comfortably relaxed.

It felt like he was waiting.

But for what?

As he opened his mouth, angelic notes flowed out of it immediately captured the hearts of the audience. When he looked up, his glistening sea foam eyes drew us in and imprisoned us in our seats.

"Oh! ~ His eyes are so beautiful."

"So is his voice."

The dreamy murmurings of the audience around us made me absentmindedly nodded in agreement. It was like we were under the spell of the male singer.

Within the haziness of my mind, my mesias began to speak to me.

"Omen! Look away from his eyes! Something is not right." Envilia shouted in my mind urgently.

Why does her voice sound so far away?

"I don't want... to... " I sighed dreamily.

~~~~~
(DW: Here comes the part where Omen goes offline :) So it's going to be from 3rd person perspective.)
"This is not good. She and the others are getting trapped under the spell." Shiro told the rest.
It's starting to affect our space too!" Yin cried out.
She pointed frantically at the wavering pieces of furniture while grabbing onto the arm of her twin for comfort. All the mesias were in the meeting room. A mental barrier was erected around a particular corner of the mental space in Omen's mind where they were living in.
True enough, it was starting to cave in from the hypnotic singing. There were cracks snaking across walls slowly and the soft trickle of the man's song was invading into the room.
Yang sighed. "What a lovely voice~"
"Noooo! Brother! Don't give in!!" Yin furiously slapped his cheek to get him out of the trance in vain.
A blue tint began to appear around the iris of Yang's black eyes. It was a sign of him being slowly controlled by the song.
"We need a solution fast! Or we are all going to succumb to that man's spell!" Envilia panicked.
"None of our spells work!" Yin cried out in despair.
"What if we try to forcefully pull Omen into this space?"
Shiro shook her head. "I doubt it will work since Yang didn't wake up from Yin's slaps. And we all know how hard her slaps are."
Everyone looked at the swelling red cheeks of Yang who was starting to look like a stuffed squirrel.
"Then what do we do?" Envilia asked dejectedly. "This is the first time we are meeting such a crisis."
Shiro closed her eyes with her arms folded and one propping up her chin and stood on the spot.
"Great. She closed up on me." Envilia threw up her hands and rolled her eyes. "Yin, any ideas?"
She stopped slapping her brother's face to answer her. "Well, how about combining our powers? I don't know if it will work with the 3 of us..."
"No need." Shiro spoke out. Her silver eyes were opened and there was a strange bright light emitting from it. A ghost of a smile appeared on her face.
"What is your suggestion then?" Yin asked quickly. She was also starting to feel nervous when the periodic rumblings of the ground began to worsen.
Shiro gazed at Envilia and Yin seriously.
"I am going to need both of you."
~~~~~

When Omen opened her eyes, her irises were no longer brown but instead silvery white. Even the hair was undergoing a colour change. The silver spread rapidly from the roots of the hair to the tips.

It was Shiro taking the reins of Omen's body while the rest was laying Omen with Yang on a bed in the mental space.

"Alright girls, time to execute the plan." Shiro muttered as she stood up from her seat.

She winced from the series of onslaught of the hypnosis spell before creating 2 similar earth golems hardened by water magic with the help of Envilia, the master of earth magic and Yin, the master of water magic. They were just as tall as her and were vaguely shaped as female human bodies. Shiro then placed her right hand under her chin and softly blew at them.

Just like how the Chinese Mother goddess Nu Wa breathe life into humans, Shiro was doing an imitation of her power and simply brought the golems to life so that Envilia and Yin could possess a temporary body of their own. This was one of the spells under her domain of power, wind.

The golems, caressed softly by Shiro's breath, began to shape themselves and revealed the other 2 mesias with their respective clothes.

Yin looked at herself before grimacing.

"We should really perfect this spell. It looks like I went through a mud bath."

"More like a mud spray." Envilia corrected her.

It was true that the spell wasn't properly made as patches of the earth was seen around their bodies.

"It will do for now since this is just temporary." Shiro said. "We have more pressing matters than perfecting a spell."

"You're right."

They replied and faced the blue singer with determination.

"Remember the plan."

Envilia gave a smirk before summoning long blades of grass under the singer's feet to grow rapidly. Once long enough, they wrapped themselves around his limbs and covered his alluring eyes.

Trapped and blinded, he panicked but continued to sing. However his melodies turned into that of distress and yearning to be free. The audience sitting in their seats began to stand up. Some moved sluggishly to help him while the others went to intercept the mesias.

"Not good! Yin!"

"On it!"

Yin willed the water in the body of the male singer to escape from his body and disappear into the air. He fell to the ground, panting at the sudden lack of dehydration. For safety purposes, Envilia also created an earth barrier around them to separate themselves from the "zombies".

The blue singer licked his parched lips before preparing his next series of notes.

"Oh no, you won't!"

Shiro instantly summoned a vacuum around him.

There was no matter in the vacuum, hence his voice cannot be projected to the ears of the audience. No one would be able to hear his songs. The possessed audience stood rooted to the ground. The spell was slowly ebbing away as the blue glow in their eyes disappeared.

Unable to stand the dehydration in his body any longer and on top of handling the pressure and lack of oxygen in the vacuum, the male singer collapsed on the ground, unconscious. A flash of blinding white light appeared around his body.

In his place, it was a blue coloured letter with a diamond shaped wax seal.

"Eh? What?!"

Envilia and Yin cried out in confusion. Shiro leaped onto the stage and picked up the letter, dusting it before pocketing it.

"How?" Yin mumbled out as she stared at the silver haired girl who walked back to her seat.

"Just a lucky guess."

"Bullshit! You knew about it!" Envilia spat out in anger.

Shiro smiled lightly before gesturing to the audience who were now slowly blinking awake.

Just before the first few people fully opened their eyes and comprehended what had happened, Shiro, in Omen's body was back in her seat, feigning a yawn. Afterwards, she let the now awoken Omen take over her body, reverting the colours of the eyes and hair back to brown.
