End of Marriage (2)

Stormy thoughts filled her head and Li Xiuying felt at loss. It's been a long time since she felt like this. Empty and useless. She felt the bitterness in her mouth as she threw up at the sink inside one of the comfort rooms inside the hospital. Beside her, Lan Jinyao rubbed her back worriedly. The young woman had no idea that Li Xiuying was pregnant until now. 

'That useless husband and whore mistress! How could they do this to Sister Ying!' 

Lan Jinyao was boiling with anger but she couldn't let Li Xiuying see it. It wasn't her place to comment on one's life but she was really tempted to go back to Lin Meirong's room and pull the bitch's hair from its root. Ah, this was really frustrating. She couldn't even do anything to help her Sister Ying right now. 

Li Xiuying gargled her mouth with water and forced herself to calm down. Shen Zichen will arrive soon to pick her up and she couldn't let him see her like this. Everything was difficult and extremely tiring these days but she couldn't let anyone worry about her especially her twin sister. 

Now that her suspicion regarding Lin Meirong's pregnancy was confirmed, she realized that she was truly clinging onto a false hope that Mu Jianyu would come back to her. 

'Foolish.'

'So pathetic.' 

'Do you see what kind of man he was now?' 

She chided herself inwardly over and over. 

"Sister Ying, you look pale. Should I call Miss Song to pick you up so you can go home? It's already late. You need to rest." Lan Jinyao asked her as they stepped out of the comfort room and walked back to Lin Meirong's room to check on her. Everyone from the film crew had left and only the two of them remained. They spotted Song Zexi and Su Ling several meters away from Lin Meirong's room. 

Song Zexi gestured ti Li Xiuying that something was up and pointed behind the closed door. She seemed to have something to say on her Miss. 

Li Xiuying paused and put her hand at the doorknob to open the door of Lin Meirong's room. She had only slightly pushed the door when her husband's familiar voice reached her ears. Both she and Lan Jinyao were stunned at what they heard. 

"I've chosen you over her. Isn't this enough proof enough?" 

Indeed, the owner of that voice was none other than Li Xiuying's husband, Mu Jianyu. 

Lan Jinyao took a side glance at Li Xiuying and wasn't surprised to see the woman broke in tears. 

Her vision became blurred with unshed tears as she heard her husband declare that he chose the other woman over her. She stood there, motionless for a long time, hearing the conversation between the cheating couple who ruined her, who plotted against her family. 

Li Xiuying walked away with her head hanging low in shame and resentment. She felt like a dog running away from her problems with her tail between her legs as she whined with bitter indignation over her marriage. 

Her bodyguards' voices as they came running towards her were tuned out. She kept walking until she reached the entrance, watching as the heavy rainstorm made everyone seek shelter from it. 

Mu Jianyu had promised Lin Meirong to marry her after their divorce. He even went as far attempting to leave the Li Corporation in shambles. 

Their sweet words to each other made her stomach churn making her nausea again, but she couldn't vomit anything out. 

Li Xiuying suddenly felt a pain in her chest and found it hard to believe. The voice of her bodyguards and Lan Jinyao were ringing in her ears but she didn't try to understand. She could feel her strength leaving her. 

This was the end of her marriage. There was no hope or chance for her to save it. 

As Mu Jianyu said, he had made a choice and it wasn't her. 

Never in her dreams did she think that their marriage would end up like this. She thought that she and Mu Jianyu could treat it as a bad chapter in their marriage life if he was willing to change and try to work out their marriage but evidently it was a one-sided wish. 

What happened to the man who promised to give her the whole world when they were dating? What happened to the man who swore that she would be the only woman in his life and if there's ever another girl, it would be their daughter?

Wasn't it enough that he betrayed her and impregnated his mistress? 

She was really a fool to fall for his lies. Now she truly understood her twin sister's words when she was still dating Mu Jianyu.

"I hope you won't regret this, Ying. You wouldn't want to know how much it would hurt if he betrays you," Li Chuntao warned her. 

Li Xiuying shrugged and didn't take her twin sister's word seriously. 

"What made you think he'll hurt me?" She asked Li Chuntao. 

"Ying, do you know what it feels…when someone made you feel special yesterday only to make you feel like a nobody today? It hurts like hell. You'll be left wondering what the fuck did you do wrong to deserve such treatment." Li Chuntao replied with a poker face. 

Li Xiuying burst out into laughter. Her twin sister's tongue was really something. 

"Chuntao, your words never fail to amaze me. Obviously, I'm the older sister but you are the one giving me love advice."
