Flight

Today is the first day of may 6 days approved leave since Sachie will be leaving for her conference. I know she will be busy packing up today because her flight will be later tonight. The things needed for the bath were ready outside and all I had to do was get the baby on the crib.

I looked at her half opened door and saw her sitting on the bed together with all her things. She was sitting still staring at her empty suitcase. I gave a two soft knocks to get her attention so I could enter the room.

She was startled at the sudden noise and became at ease when she saw me. She looked at me sadly and I know she's a bit hesitant about leaving.

"Can I not go to the conference?" she pleaded. It's her first time to leave for so long so I understand how she feels.

"You should go. Its for your career growth anyway and if you are worrying about Kenji then don't. I had my vacation leave and I will take care of him."

"I know you would... It's just that I can't leave him for 5 days... That's too long." I took the baby on the crib which is by the playing by himself.

"Good morning baby boy! Bath time! Yey!" he was giggling. I know this baby loves bath time. We'll swim one of these days. I want to be sporty and swimminh would be one of his forte like me.

"Reeve..." there she goes again convincing me not to let her go.

"Kenji tell mommy that we'll be fine here" he cooed like he's telling her that it's fine.

"Give mommy a morning kiss" we went closer to her and I leaned his face towards Sachie. She gave him a soft kiss on his lips and on his cheeks.

"By the way, when you get back let's do our christmas shopping together okay? We have to start decorating because its going to be our first christmas together. Okay? So finish packing now." I finally left her room and I could hear her rustling through her things. Shopping really makes women happy huh?

I gave Kenji his bath. He loves playing with the water. Now what should we do for the next 5 days? It'll be just the two of us. And its been a long time since I was able to have this long vacation except on holy week though.

After Kenji fell asleep I started preparing lunch in the kitchen but Sachie stopped me and told me that she'll do it.

"Are you done packing?" I hissed. I was on the mood to cook now although I always liked her cooking.

"Almost" she said confidently.

"Go finish it and I'll prepare the lunch"

"Just let me cook please? I won't be doing it for five days so please let me..." oh she's giving me the puppe eyes now. Since when was she able to do it?

I playfully glared at her but she's not backing down with her pleading. I held my hands up. "Okay you win just make sure its yummy" I went to the living room and sat on the couch. I'm feeling a bit sleepy now.

"Reeve! Let's eat! Wake up!"

I rubbed my eyes and looked around. I can't believe I fell asleep. I lazily walked towards the dining table and I could hear her chuckling behind me.

"Sleepy head" she teased.I smiled a little. I wanted to sleep more though. She placed the beef steak on tge table and its aroma woke me up finally.

"Where's Kenji?" the crib wasn't on the living room.

"In my room still sleeping"

"He sleeps a lot recently though I wanted us to play"

We ate in silence. I'll miss her cooking for a few days. Wish I could tell it straight to her but I wouldn't want things to be awkward. But I meant it anyway so what's wrong with it?

"You finish your packing so you can still have your afternoon nap."

"Yes Sir!" she chimed.

"Stop it!"

She laughed. "You'll gonna miss me for a few days so deal with it!"

"Yeah" I answered and took a spoonful of rice and the beef.

"Yeah..." she repeated and then looked down at her food.

"Sachie only one suitcase" I teased.

She came out of her room together with Kenji. "Its only five days not one month. So one bag is enough."

"Let's go?" I went out first and waited until she went out. "Tickets? Vouchers? Phone? Charger? Powerbank? Are your fullt charged?"

She chuckled. "Complete sir! Let's go!" We went to the car and drove towards the airport.

"Do you have your jacket? It's kinda cold at the airport. You know its Christmas season."

"Uh oh... I forgot but I have my blazers on my luggage." I stopped the car on the designated drop off area and took her luggage. I took off the jacket I was wearing and placed it on my arm before taking Kenji on his baby seat.

"Is everything complete? You didn't forget anything?"

She took one last look on her should bag and nodded at me. While carefully holding Kenji, I placed the jacket on her which caught her offguard.

"But..." I shook my head in disagreement.

"Take it" I commanded. She wore the jacket although it reallt looked big but it complimented her outfit tonight.

She was looking at the both of us not wanting to say goodbye.

"You go now I bet your workmates are already inside." She didn't say a word but kept looking at us. Is she getting teary eyed right now?

In just a second I just felt her embracing the both of us. She buried her face on my chest. I can feel her hesitation since this morning but its required of her to go. I lifted my free arm and embraced her back.

"It's just five days Sachie. Take care of yourself right there okay? And don't worry about us. We'll be fine and don't forget to keep in touch." She nodded her head. When she let go of us, she wiped a tear that escaped her eye.

I patted her head. "Go home soon okay?"

With one last look she went inside the airport.

I'll surely miss you... That's for sure...
