Leonard stood before the gigantic metallic door with red glowing vein beating like a heart pumping blood through the object, he stares at it for a long while before Augustus snapped him out of his trance of admiring anything that's remotely sci-fi related.
"Are you ready to go in?" he asked Leonard.
"Erm... yes, please proceed." Leonard replied, he's was now curious about what lies beyond this piece of scientific technology of a door.
Augustus nodded his head before walking toward the door and placed his hand on the glowing orb that was placed neatly in the center of the door.
The moment Augustus touched the door with his hand, red glowing vein began to showed on the hand that was touching the orb and began to glow brightly, which also lit the vein that was plastered all over the gigantic metallic door, making them shine a shade of red.
The glow soon dimmed down and the metal started to retracted in an extreme speed, revealing the other side.
Which was in itself, an underground world, completed with an artificial sun above in the ceiling, glaring down on the people below- which was a blue body of water, centered with a white pyramid in the middle of the artificial lake- no, it was more like an ocean, a calm ocean with no wave, no wind- complete silence.
"Come, the other are waiting for you within that pyramid." Augustus dismissed the ball of flame that was still on his palm and proceed to step onto the surface of the ocean and "walked" toward the pyramid that was in the center, Leonard followed Augustus and set foot down onto the surface of the water, to his surprise- it was not the feeling of water, it was that of hard- solid ground, even though the water was rippling below his foot, he did not felt the sensation of the water, it was not wetting his shoe- no it was bone dried.
"Come, quickly." Augustus repeated and beckoned Leonard to follow him.
The two quickly headed for the white pyramid that was at the center of the ocean.
When they were close enough to the pyramid, Leonard noticed that the thing was massive,
It was roughly size of a large high rise building, completely made of white, shining mysterious material of unknown origin.
When the two walked closer to the building, a door opened up and showed them inside of the pyramid, which was brightly lit with artificial light and a wave of chilly yet refreshing current of air assaulted the both of them, cooling down their skin.
They walked inside and quickly the door closed behind them, Augustus then gave a verbal command while the both of them was inside.
"Take us to the main chamber." he commanded, the moment Augustus said those words, Leonard could felt that the room was moving extremely quickly downward for roughly a second or two before the door once again opened.
"You have arrived, come...quickly." from the other side of the door after it was open, Leonard could hear the voice of his grandfather on the other end, calling out for the both of them.
Leonard and Augustus walked out from that overly sci-fied elevator and was greeted by first, his grandfather who stood at the end of the hallway, next was his mother- who stood next to the old Emperor, who had a smile on her face and next was a group of unknown people, most likely Leonard cousins, aunts and uncles.
But it wasn't those people that caught his attention, nor was his mother or grandfather, but what was behind the old emperor.
"What...the...hell…?" Leonard stared at the "thing" that was behind the group of relative with eyes opened wide open, flabbergast, shock… it was a mesh of emotions.
It was large, spherical object, the size of a small hill, with a large crack on it surface which seeped glowing golden liquid down onto the pool below, the object was linked up through multiple large wire conduits and left hanging up on the ceiling.
"No way...that couldn't be it right?... there's no way that could be it…" Leonard muttered in a low voice as gulped down a mouthful of saliva.
He reacted that way because the object before his eyes reminded him so much of a certain piece of miracle he once read about from his previous life.
Except for a few minor differences, this object look very similar to that device.
"The holy grail...no...this thing is...perhaps...a greater grails…?" he muttered in a low tone.
"Come closer, your...destiny...await…" his grandfather beckoned Leonard toward himself, Leonard alone, while Augustus remained back near the elevator, watching.
Leonard marched toward the miracle slowly as the people there are watching him intensively, some of course, had a dirty look on them as they gazed at him, however they remained silence, the only sound that could be heard now was the sound of the flowing golden liquid and the footstep of Leonard marching toward the end of the hallway.
The moment he arrived at the end of the hallway he felt a sudden change in pressure in the air around him, the feeling of being crushed by raw powers- it was all radiated from the object behind the old man, his grandfather and mother smiled lightly, before the old man went toward the accumulated golden liquid pool that was behind him with a jeweled chalice and scooped up a cup full of the mysterious, viscous golden liquid.
"Drink this...It will help you grow stronger." his grandfather handed him the golden chalice.
"What is this?" Leonard accepted the cup offered by the old man and looked at the content of the cup with eyes filled with questions and doubts.
"This is the liquid of miracle… the water from the fountain of power itself, this was discovered by the founder of our Empire from an ancient ruin within the mist ocean during one of the expedition to chart the sea- of course, the charting part ended in failure… in the end, he discovers a mysterious island, shrouded by a thick dense golden mist, filled to the brim with magical beasts and exotic and rare herbs that had thought to only exist in legend- in the middle of that island, he found this...the fountain of power with it life water seeping in the water source of the island…the rest, you're likely had guessed it, the founder tested the water and upon discovering it miracle, he brought it back to the empire." his grandfather gave him a small run down on the history of the artifact behind him.
"..." It took a moment for Leonard to comprehend the old man words.
"So it's not the holy grail? I guess I should have expected that one..." his inner chibi let out a dejected sigh- but in the end, it doesn't explain all the crazy tech that he'd seen thus far.
He stared at the chalice of golden liquid for the last time, contemplating on whatever or not to … accept and drink the golden Mt.Dew that was offered.
[High concentrated liquid energy detected- effect, very beneficial for current host.] it was then that the system informed him of the liquid content.
The moment he processed that message, he immediately chugged down the thick, viscous golden liquid that was in the chalice.
*cough *cough! "Arghhh!!!" when the liquid rushed down his throat a horrible burning sensation creeped down his esophagus.
