What occurred at his death was a phenomenon that shook nearby stars, existing in another reality.
Harbored in an inferior world, an anomaly was forged by none other than Varcel himself...

He's the type of earthling who would point at a blank wall, laugh, all while having a full conversation with what looked to be nothing.
Nothing? Sure, to you maybe. But in Varcel's eyes, there was a wise sage prospering, offering knowledge like nobody before. To him, from his reality, he was a timeless cultivator who had lived for eons.
Obviously, his hallucinations were almost never this bright.
Unknown beings who'd he never met would roam his vicinity, peering through windows, staring through a crevice. A closet, a door, anywhere.
The list of such encounters seemed completely, utterly endless.
Like many things, this was his constant existence.
Another thing he hates? His delusions...
Another thing he loves?
His dissociation.
A love hate relationship.
Clawing at his very subconscious, Varcel could not trust himself.
Reality for him, morphs with a trickster whose aim is to make you and your entire world collapse. They smile, they win. You can choose how to react, but in the end, you lose.
By accepting defeat, Varcel by default, won.
"What's my purpose?"

Monsters like you've never perceived, voices like you've never heard...
This is who Varcel was on Earth... an OCD fanatic turned schizophrenic.
A man who'd been given a shitty hand, but instead of folding, he solemnly gazed at the other competitors, flying his bluff till death.

In the serene ambiance of Yale University's campus, Varcel met his earthly demise with a bullet piercing his forehead. Falling, he had died under that starlit sky...

Strangely inviting of death with a large smile adorning his face, that was... also faceplanted in blood, distant... and hopelessness.
As his "final..." breaths escaped him, along with others, one thought prevailed:
'I don't want to die... Such a normal wish, ain't it...'
'Can't even use proper English on your deathbed?'
'Oh. I just did.'
Lucky for our forlorn protagonist, he had reincarnated into a fantasy world where magic and swords were equivalized to technology with It's pure strength.
The Bizarre Universe, dubbed by its inhabitance as... Red-rift.
As Varcel wandered through this unfamiliar world, he suddenly grasped a thrilling truth: he still inhabited his earthly body, with his familiar features unchanged. Yet, he couldn't be on Earth; he had already been headshot, passing away there. This realization sparked within him the notion of transitioning into another reality, where magic could be more than just a fantasy.
That thought turned out to be somewhat correct.
More importantly... A shocking miracle was revealed.
Within this new world, Varcel wasn't schizophrenic anymore.
Rivers of tears flooded the grasses he stood on... Just before he fought a mythical monster... where it had eaten him whole.
This is how our screwball protagonist ended up in a baseless magical void.
