Summarised in one sentence - Bloodborne but with a twist (Reference, this review is only for the only ten chapters posted at the time) It's not hard to find the very obvious inspirations the author took from the bloodborne game. This isn't bad however as bloodborne had such a unique and interesting world. Plus the Authors take on the world, power system and weapons are intriguing. The author does take his time to use a very nice, descriptive yet quick prose that does engage the reader. Additionally, his upload schedule is decent for the quality of his writing. Take your time king. However, he employs a tell rather than show approach, leaving copious amounts of internal monologue, bogging down the story and engagement. This can be okay for exposition on the world, yet leaves very little mystery and intrigue for the reader to figure out themselves. Also, the author takes this approach to characterisation by explaining some of the characters and their personality rather than showing the reader and letting them make up their mind on the character. The story and consequently the world isn't flushed out well right now, yet there is obviously much to explore considering its use of Bloodborne's bleak, dark and occultist vibe as a heavy reference. The world is already very unique by the first chapter, considering the majority of stories in this website are just medieval village two with a different name and an adventurers guild. A personal gripe is that the protagonist takes two seconds to realise he is now a daemon to then nonchalantly walk it off. The shapeshifting element is only reinforced by Altier's (Father Gascoine) commentary to which the protagonist still only shrugs off. Still, I love where this is going and I intend to follow the story for a while.

All good. I really love the story writers always improve with time so I can't wait to see how much your writing changes and how the story develops.

CasualNaphu:Thank you very much for your review! For the "show rather than tell," I'm still figuring out that sweet equilibrium between the two, so I'm sorry if it has dampened your enjoyment while reading. I'm definitely working on improving that part of my writing style! As for Acheros' reaction to his Daemon form, I actually wanted to showcase his relative numbness to everything related to the Occult compared to the rest of society. Although he's somewhat confident he could reverse that transformation given enough time for research, he definitely hasn't walked it off. It's an internal struggle with some spoiler elements, so I'll refrain from talking too much about it. Just know that it's foreshadowing something coming up soon. That aside, you're right about my inspiration! Despite not having played Bloodborne, I really love the game's aesthetic and several of its elements. However, it stops at that. I'm not interested in delving into cosmic horror; hence my book will only have those initial similarities. I enjoy comments like these as they help me improve and point out weaknesses in my novel. Please don't hesitate to comment in the future. :)
