Was interested during the first few chapters...But then the forced nationalism started and it keeps getting worse.Does the author get paid for this kind of nonsense? It's ok if there's a bit nationalism when the situation calls for it. Now it's just irritating..

me gustaNot sure why comments like this are so common when some of the biggest novels on this website have no nationalism in them and they are from authors in China too. I think it's more likely extreme nationalism and racism is just super common among authors especially those that frequently steal ideas and use cliches liberally. I find the higher quality the writing and more original the work/author is the less likely you are to see any nationalism.
Ryu_Is_Charming:It’s required to be promoted and gain more viewers in some countries. The authors who refuse to comply are not allowed to publish to the public.
OMG! I'm not the only one who sees this! although it's more the authors who make bargain bin novels for qidian that seems to be the most extreme group. and the independent groups that publish on royal roads aren't. most of webnovels recent stories come from qidian.

simply because those novels likely have no modern elements, or potentially anti-nationalist elements, just look at what happened to reverend insanity.

Reverend Insanity was banned by the CCP because it criticised (covertly) the Government and Clan System and didn't have enough nationalism. And those gems you're talking about, they were published before the CCP began their crackdown on novels a few years back.

Webnovel is related to Qidian, think they come from the same company ans are sister companies. Webnovel is ironically banned in China due to the Western influence here. [img=faceslap]

It’s actually the same company almost just renamed as qidan is now seen in a negative light in western countries so they renamed it to webnovel due to some scandal

Not completely sure but i think they asked wuxiaworld to stop translating novels posted on qidian even though wuxiaworld and the authors of the novel had a contract, plz correct me if I'm wrong
raining_moon:what is the issue with them?
no, they sold the right to translate the novel to different site like wuxia etc... and when they started webnovel they riped off all the translation

Its a shame really. If they actually worked properly with sites like Wuxiaworld then they would have access to better translators who could promote their works better not have like a lot of novels that are just a bit better than mtls.

it should be said it seems to be required if using earth as the main world. any novel I've seen where mc is on earth has nationalism no matter what country they are from to some extent. the novels where its a different world it seems to only be prevalent in copy paste authors
