honestly he should have had the golden finger from the start.... we know that the main character is going to be okay... so allowing him to be overpowered and easily solve the issue from the start isn't a big deal.... in fact it's more enjoyable if you do that...

why can’t his sister live with their uncle? If there is a family relation doing something as simple as living with him and having just enough food to eat, shouldn’t be an issue. it’s like they’re trying to create a problem for no reason..
