I was going to explain in the next chapter, but I might as well do it in the chapter comments instead. These Chaos Pieces are just duplicates. Not the originals. The benefits of having them are diluted immensely. Hespera only game them to the chosen Greek gods and goddesses to keep track of their actions and to control them if necessary when she leaves to the next world.

Hespera exposes that Hera’s queenship is a hollow position, maintained only to save face while the true power structure mocks her behind closed doors. That’s why the room reacted with shock. Because Hespera spoke aloud what everyone silently knew but never dared to say.
