After about an hour or two—Lucifer wasn't sure as he didn't have a watch—they arrived at their destination. You might be wondering, why do they travel so slowly? Don't they have better carriages? The answer is no, they don't. While this world is similar to many others, there are notable differences. One of these is the very low number of beast tamers capable of controlling high-level beasts. Normal people couldn't control beasts either, as the creatures in this world were too proud and would rather die than become mounts. As a result, only mortal beasts—regular animals like non-magical horses—were mostly used. This is why most high-level individuals preferred to travel on foot instead of relying on carriages or mounts. And as for why Seraphina and other royals use carriages? Well, they're royalty—walking on their own feet is out of the question. Hopefully, this clears up the non-existent mystery.

Lucifer and Seraphina weren't traveling on Nox because he was angry about being left behind at the Mansion of Aldric Von Valthora. Not only did he refuse to let Seraphina—whom he now saw as the biggest sinner in his life—sit on his back anymore, but when Lucifer tried to coax him, he turned his back and flew away to who knows where. He was growing more stubborn by the day.

There could be three reasons here: first, this guy was a nobody, and he didn't cultivate his mana at all, which was not possible, as Seraphina just said he was a Diamythe adventurer and also her personal guard; second, this guy had a technique that could hide his presence from cultivators of a higher rank, which also had very slim chances, as normally though people liked to control their power and these skill also helped them but it was not to the point that someone like Aldric who was among the top in the empire—or so he thought at least couldn't even guess; and third, which was the most reasonable and terrifying at the same time, he was someone who was above him in level, and so much so that he couldn't even fathom how much. Ahh common cliché to introduce powerful character I can't help but do this, Which I am extremely sorry about.
