This is how an ogre looks.

He knows he's a beast now, but not much time has passed since he became one, so he hasn’t fully grasped the reason for the goblin’s fear. After all, in his mind, he still sees himself as he was in his previous life and hasn’t yet come to see himself as something terrifying.

It's a very simple and illogical reason. He just wants to be in a familiar place after waking up in an already incomprehensible situation. In such a case, one would hope for something familiar, not considering the benefits or dangers involved.
