OK, I feel like I need to explain some stuff. 1. MC is not a hero in the slightest he just wanted to bring someone to his side who was reliable so he could get information since when he first possessed the body he didn't get the usual knowledge from memories straight away like the typical transmigrators do.. and the only person there at the time was Mary, so he worked with what he could. If he finds someone better than her, then he would ditch her. so he's buying gifts for her to build a connection. 2. mc going to the festival was to observe and see what the world looked like while also having fun
