I glanced at the pass card with irritation, recalling my previous experience with one of these. I wasn't thrilled about using it again; it drew far too much attention. However, that was precisely my intention this time, so I had to just accept it. This was for my brother's happiness, and that made it all worthwhile.

It surprises me that they really just believe he would do this without even seeing him personally. I would want to see him and hear it from him, I couldn't just accept it from some random person's mouth that I never even met before! how does she know he wasn't being held captive or something.
For males that are so fierce and loyal towards the one they love, Kyrell's actions seemed bizarre. The latter not only mated with another female but was also trying to hurt the one he had loved before. His Lilly would never forgive herself for King Leonard's death even though there was nothing she could have done to avoid it. It was not even her fault, to begin with, but she would blame herself and as her mate, Blake didn't know how he could console his mate. Every time she looked at Noah, she would be reminded of this dreadful day and there was nothing he could do about it. In no way was it possible for him to relieve her troubles.

As she turned back to the crowd, her eyes fell on the lone person. Her mate, Noah stood frozen stiff in his place while facing his father's bloodied corpse on the ground. The Lion Queen's screams and sobs sounded heart-wrenching.
