I think.... it's a slow healing process (compared to normal skin healing). My friend has been diagnosed with a slightly dysfunctional muscle that should stop the acidic build up in the stomach. The prolonged and recursive exposure to acidity causes him minor degrees of acid burn and like effects on the food pipe. That was the reason I think your problem might be something similar in effect (obviously not in cause of origin), stomach acid when the lining protecting the stomach wears thin causes a more serious issue which is what I remember is the cause of stomach ulcers. I am neither any medicine student nor am I completely certain if what I said is error free. Go to Doctor and get some medicines dude, I'm not sure if what you are referring to as 'ulcers' is what I am familiar with but one of my friends has a similar chronic problem along the food pipe. They were relatively slow to heal even with meds, if that sounds familiar go get some meds for pain relief or a senzu bean.
