Oh wow, thanks for this comment! I will have to edit this stuff due to my ignorance of not informing myself properly of Greek warfare advancements. I've only really studied hoplite formations and what they used so far hahah
Amen to that!
I highly agree in terms of their downfall being attributed to a very crazy culture and their ideas of the military. Also in this period, Spartan imperialism was a key factor in their downfall instead of being traditionally conservative on the world stage. A whole bunch of contributing factors allowed their downfall after a great rise. Dwindling numbers, inability to innovate, dated culture, and extra.
Yes definitely! Scroll down for some of my plans :) The plan is for Damon to be like Ferdinand the second in terms of sponsoring exploration. Yet on a much greater scale more like a prophet. A key destination I like is Spain due to the abundance of Silver. The mines were so profitable it allowed Carthage to bounce back to fight Rome for round 2. I'm not sure in Damon's lifespan the new world would be accomplishable I'd need to look more into it but he definitely would encourage it. As for city building that will definitely be fun something similar as to what Alexander the Great did but the city building would definitely be much more conservative and utility-based.
For all reading, it would be great to have some insight on whether or not adding a leveling system of some type would allow for a more endearing experience. I am not for or against it and it won't change any of my plans for the future and what I've written so far. Just some extra flavor and perhaps a bigger headache hahah
Dont worry MC isnt static he is dynamic. War will happen also the MC does have advantages but they have yet to be used. Its impossible to invent anything out of mud or have people follow your orders to do so at the ripe age of 10. Thanks for reading!
If you want to be spoiled on my plan for this then scroll down. :D . . . . . . . . . . . . . The plan is for the MC to do both making his future child the only one belonging to their dynasty. So if any people that don't support can't do anything or the dynasty goes extinct allowing Damon legitimacy.
Hahaha I feel you on that I’ll get to it today
Yea I'm going to change them once the guy that said the original names were annoying responds
I agree with you on this. Back in Ancient Greece the idea of king is completely different to them. Yet there kings which were essentially born generals should still be treated very formal. Since they were thought to be relatives of the legend Hercules. Mishap on my part 😅
I can’t give spoilers but my plans do align with your statement. The mc will develop over the course of the story. The greatest known men in history weren’t the kindest or most humble
I have came around to this. I agree! I’m thinking of Klaus too Nikolaus and George to Georgios. What do you think?
Its what Sparta was. If they were more diplomatic or were more innovative they could've stayed more relevant.
Klaus shares both Greek and Germanic origin. Same with the rest of the names. Could you give suggestions if they aren’t fitting to you instead? Since I’m the one that gave them the names and didn’t know the name Klaus was “annoying”.
Sparta eventually ceased to exist because of their reliance on having their people go to war. Sparta had 1/5 the citizens of Athens and so whenever they lost a battle they lost many young men. Eventually they lost all relevancy due to one lost battle against Thebes who before then never dreamt of becoming the dominant power of Greece for 20 years. I agree Sparta is Sparta because of their military but that military is full of men. No men = no military and due to their constant warfare that no men situation made them into a small village under the Roman Empire. (Due to the lack of men they even resorted to polygamy and eventually just accepted being a tourist attraction)
Thats unclear writing on my part. Thanks for telling me I'll rephrase it! :D
