Could Grace be a royal? Her background has been very hidden all along.
The princess, like anyone who looked the Lady's way, couldn't help but notice Adela's hair, an inherited Emorian trait identical in color to Kaiser's. However, her bold and assertive actions were more reminiscent of a Kolhisan royal, setting her apart from the typical demure demeanor of Emorian women.

Obviously another custom Adela doesn't know about.
He went down on one knee, but instead of holding the bottom of her dress, Egon surprised Adela by doing something different. He gently wrapped his hand around her summer shoe, slowly lifting it to help her find her balance, and then he planted a tender kiss on the front of her foot. Afterward, he placed her foot back on the ground and stood up, wearing a smug expression on his face.
