using his power would give the credit of this to him, cause he'll then be THE superhero. but the goal is to boost wanda's img as a general and leader. hence he was avoiding using his powers.
5. Why would exposing Erik's powers would work? because even though erik possess powers, he didn't use them to protect the people from the invasion. this would certainly harm the image of erik and wanda for sure.

While arriving on Mars could take 15-25 mins if he included the time it took the Stealth Ship to leave Earth's atmosphere and park the ship on the base, with Strange's magic portals it took literally no time at all to come to the desired spot.
