That can’t possibly be right. Humanity has control over so much of the Milky Way, with such a massive population. Trillions on people, and you expect me to believe that they were born in just 2000 years? Unless over 90% of them were clones, that can’t be right. Maybe you’re correct and that is the canonical year. I believe you got that date somewhere, so you probably are, in which case, yeah, the Ancient Greek and Roman names from the Sol system probably make sense still. In any case, that just brings up the bigger question of “Where did everyone come from?”

Not necessarily. Night vision can be based on infrared light, which is also the basis for Thermal Vision, but Night Vision can also simply be based on a number of different ranges of light, or even just a super-enhanced sensitivity to visible light. The difference is marginal, but important.
