he clearly knows she likes him, how is he dense? If anything he's just avoiding the subject entirely as he's unsure of what to do. At least thats how I see it.

I think pov shifts are fine if they further the plot and offer a different perspective of thought and aren't just there for shock value/reactions to what mc is doing. But as you know a lot of the pov shifts until now were unnecessary, up to a point.
