The main reason is that I haven't seen any author who has done this successfully and made it enjoyable for the reader. Whoever does this makes the second incarnate stronger than the mc or smarter than the mc, and they are always distinct from the mc, which erases the uniqueness of the mc, and this in itself is annoying to the reader, but if you are sure... by making it interesting for the readers, you have the freedom to do what you want
