You can easily determine if author deletes your comment. If someone looks at your profile and the message is still there, it means that author did not delete the comment and it was done by webnovel. (I can see your message, hence why I know he didn't delete it) If author deleted comment, anyone apart from you would be able to see what you commented.

Author isn't lying. Webnovel sysetm automatically deletes comments and reviews its algorithm finds offensive. Happened to me multiple times already
