Is there anything fundamentally wrong with these recommendations? Are they based on personal opinions or lacking objectivity? The purpose of feedback is not to impose our views but to share insights and encourage creative discussion. Many don’t realize how valuable this is for a writer—whether it helps them notice something they missed or sparks new ideas to improve their work.

Portraying a purely evil character from the very beginning is a creative challenge that requires a high level of skill in storytelling and psychological justification. It is something that rarely succeeds without a clear philosophical depth. In this context one of my favorite characters Fang Yuan, his success is not merely due to him being evil, but rather because the author granted him an intellectual and ideological dimension that justifies his actions from his own perspective. This made him a complex and intriguing character rather than just a stereotypical villain. Moreover, Fang Yuan was not introduced as a heartless monster from the start; his character developed gradually. He began as a naive and kind-hearted young man, but after years of suffering and struggling in a ruthless world that does not acknowledge morality, he transformed into the cold and calculating being we know. This gradual evolution gave his character realism and credibility, making the audience accept and understand his motivations, even if they did not agree with them. From this perspective, I find it difficult to imagine the success of a purely evil character from the start without a deep philosophical foundation supporting them. Creating a villainous character that is also accepted by the audience requires narrative skill and intellectual strategy that go beyond simply portraying evil—it requires justifying it and giving it meaning. This is a level of creativity and thought that only a few authors can achieve, and to be frank, I highly doubt that someone writing a fanfiction novel would be one of them.

A lot of unnecessary information, and the fights take more time than they deserve.

I just conducted an in-depth search and couldn't find any official source confirming either my or your perspective. The unofficial sources are contradictory, with most stating he is 4 or 7 years older than Kakashi, while others say they are the same age or even that he is younger. Even the official sources, such as the manga and Kishimoto's statements, are inconsistent and illogical in many of the flashback details. I think this leaves room for the author to interpret as they wish in this gray area. However, I still believe that he should be older, or when he dies, he would be around fifteen, which is a very young age for someone who carries deep thoughts and philosophy that had a significant impact on Itachi.
