Plus, I know my friend’s personality pretty well. He’s the type that likes to slowly progress a character’s age as the story progressses.

I personally don’t really mind since I’m the same age, plus he is a classmate of mine. He’s eleven, so we’re both not the most comfortable with writing stories that pertain characters of ages higher then our own.
