Just because they're two objects, doesn't mean they couldn't be together... what if the pair of them are mixed together, with the 'stone' giving the aether a boost, which is why the Dark Elves seem to think it'd be enough to turn off all the lights? Speaking of, given that is basically what Knull also wants to do, I could see them and being related. Like they were made from a failed symbiote creation experiment that solidified or permanently bound itself to the race and lost most of its power, leaving just the drive to 'return existence to the darkness of the void.'

It'd be awesome if characters from Warcraft showed up. Jaina Proudmoore, Arthas Menethil (Pre and Post Frostmourne), Sargeras, Draenai Prophet Velen, The Dragon Aspects, Kael'thas Sunstrider, Illidan and Malfurion Stormrage. And so many more. Even better, send her to Azeroth on some quests. Like send Gwen on a quest to pop Sargeras' head before he makes the Legion, or off the monstrosities that corrupt him. Or have her down Deathwing, prevent him from becoming Deathwing, remove the corruption and turn him back into Neltharion the Earth Warder. So many possibilities!
