ak-47 was definitely a soviet invention, the USA equivalent had better performance, but cost way more and was more complex leading to needing more care and maintenance. AK was cheaper, easier to manufacture and could survive worse treatment and conditions; leading to its widespread adoption.

But at the escape, they encounter each other, Hadvar calls Ralof a traitor and hopes that the dragon takes Ralof and his allies all to Sovngarde.
