I like the idea of him being bonded to another person. But the person could be on another continent or even another world. so that he will first try to find that person when the story is over. Which will give him a reason to either go to another world or you could explore the continent in the world which is completely up to you. If you don’t wanna write anymore at the end of the story then you don’t need to add one.

I’m sorry if this question already have been asked, but you do know in the avatar world the planet is round and the characters know that. It’s directly implied multiple times it’s round. Not a single time is it implied that it’s flat. So why are you even putting weight on the part like they don’t know. Because they do know the planet is round. The Greek new, the Roman new even The Vikings found out, it’s just the Christian that erased it, because it didn’t fit into their belief.
