This is true but for the majority these novels were never meant for a global audience. There’s a reason why 95%+ of CN have extreme nationalism even though they know it would hurt the global market. This is because the global market is quite simply irrelevant. The money they get is practically nothing and they have to deal with the middlemen that is Qidian that completely scam them. Xianxia/Xuanhuan which primarily evolved from Wuxia follows the same ‘immortals and demons’ concepts (similar to Martial Art Heroes being prevalent in all Wuxia). This is why they expect you to know the concept of divine kingdoms because it engrained within the genre. In an ideal world yes they would expand upon it, but again it was never meant for global audiences in the first place.

Not really. Web novels are extremely popular within China (obviously), and Divine Kingdoms given by system novels are almost always the same.

The translation quality is enjoyable? I can’t with these people. It’s ai that isn’t even translation oriented. At least use one with a dictionary. Instead it reads like chapgpt.

Nowadays it is. Wtrlab has countless better Mtl sites without any editing. There are lots of sites with replacement dictionaries among other features. This isn’t 2016 anymore it’s a lot better now. Using Webnovel/Qidian as a quality example is not good xdd.

I couldn’t agree more. This review system saying 4.5 stars and then having pinned nonsensical 5 star reviews while this one gets hidden is beyond me. Recently it feels like any novels outside of Mtl are just trash.
