I was trying to have the air that comes off Ashborn at that moment as a boss. Either Batman accepted the new roles, or he could quit. With things becoming far more dangerous, being an asshole was a small price.

The thing with Batman is that he himself knows he is insane. The only reason the JOker is a thing is because of Batman, if Batman were to disappear so would Joker. This is something shown in the comic, and this is why the Joker refuses to kill Batman. MC isn't really trying to force Batman to kill, that would be a waste of time and could lead to the hero joining the dark side. What he wants is for them to be able to kill before innocent lives are taken. The whole therapy thing is simple, Batman needs therapy. In the comic batman himself thinks so. To have someone who the Joker thinks they are so much alike would stand in a world without plot armor. Either Batman steps down as a hero for good or seeks the mental help he needs. That's what MC was pointing towards. The whole magical stuff was if Batman tries to be a hero if his right to be a hero is taken away. Knowing Batman, he would do what he wants. As for his shadows, they had free will in the sense that they could think, and act without MC telling them what to do. Most of the stuff his shadows did when he was asleep was down out of the shadow's own free will. They are 100% loyal, but if you think that the fact that they can't betray MC is a lack of free will then you're right, they don't have free will.

I will try and complete this, after all I already have the ending planned out. Just got to get there

I’m pretty sure the system said he was in a weakened state to keep him alive. Did I remove that part? I wrote this chapter a few days back so I’m not sure if I changed my mind on something and needed up removing that detail

Superman in the comic strength is all over the place, some time he struggle with street level guys and sometime he is doing universal level stuff. As for the bat stuff, and other stuff it would be explained when the story get there
