I'm a huge fan of Robert Louis Stevenson, in possession of a collection of several of his most prominent works, so there's that; Jane Eyre, obviously a number of works by Dickens... Just the classics, really. It's not so much about how many, but how closely you read them: I analyzed them closely, and saw that punctuation was key: the writers of the era were far more varied in their punctuation, which allowed for more creative and--I would say--elegant sentence structures; to say nothing of the wider vocabularies typically on display, and archaic usages of certain words like "directly." You see, I've always had an inclination for longwinded sentences, and as such it was a natural fit to my own developing style; at once an artificial transmogrification, which now feels to be completely natural.
i'm a broke bish lol I didn't do enough research it seems xD
Bless you! I have plans to convert into, like, a halloween special later anyway. :)
you're right I was being too realistic lol
I'm sold!
Needs rewrite >_<
ty or maybe it's corn on the cob-sequence xd
yup LOL
I am dead set on carrying out the edits starting in November, when my contract period ends. Current plans are to turn this into an anthology series interwoven with Akira and Co's adventure: combined with my other story Modest Hero, as well as other ideas for short stories I have to set in the same universe. I must be able to singularly devote all of my focus into such a grand undertaking, like I did when I edited the first volume! As much as it pains me to have to delay for so long. I'm done settling for anything but the best of what I can do, but I know I must be smart about it. As well as patient.
"chapter was here, but it's gone now" The chapter that was here before doesn't fit at all with my current continuity, so I chose to remove it for the time being. Really, the entire latter half of the third volume is the most in need of a rewrite...which I'm planning to get started on two months from now. I'm glad you enjoy my writing. ^^ Just know I pour hours of my day, every day, into every new chapter, with a goal of making each one special. Consequently, it's hard to find time to do my rewrites at the same time as updates. I'll get to it after my contract period ends.
as hinted at within the text, cute squirrel MC will, rest assured, make a return--through ~magical~ means You're one of my "top fans," so I especially appreciate your honest critique. And as such, will admit that I know I've strayed far off the original course with this arc out of my growing desire to write something of more form and substance--like my other works--although I'm not in a position to do so right now. Because whereas at the start of writing CEO Anthro I was practically manic all the time, writing totally on a whim for the sake of my own cheap thrills and amusement while at the same time poking fun at all the various "popular" genres that I couldn't bear to write for, my new desire is to find a healthy marriage between bizarre, fun insanity, and something a bit more...meaningful. I think my latest edits of the first volume of CEO Anthro were able to achieve this. However, under my current working conditions, I find I am simply unable to maintain that ideal union to satisfy both the audience and myself. I'm more or less putting out first drafts of every chapter, and as someone who cares deeply about the craft I'll never be fully content with this fact. Nor do I expect my more discerning readers to be. Just...two more months, and this hellish period of "zombie writing" will be over; then I can fix what needs fixing, and really breathe life into this story again. Because, like Akira, it pains me to ever have to settle for less. <3
In terms of subject matter, absolutely. LOL
