I don't know if this would be referring to the mythical creature, but I am going to say no because it said at the beginning that there are no fantastical creatures (except the dead ones, which are still real, they're just animated dead.) So I shall say this is referring to the (possibly) Green Basilisk, a lizard from Central America who's long toes allow it to run on water.
