I’m in tears how have I not spotted this, the first draft had him losing his wand the second had him rolling on the ground picking it up and defending himself. 💔

Taking a page from Stefan's book he flicked his wand to the side at a slight angle, "Flipendo!" he yelled

It is taking longer than expected 🥲😂

Also I know everyone is looking forward to the war but I just want to let you know after this brief summer arc we go into James potters 3rd year (which is a lot more fun than the previous school year, a lot more action, death eater stuff, and more.). I'm definitely trying to build a actual war which takes time and not some ten chapter battle that's called a war. But don't worry, I'm not going to drag out the suspense for too long hope you are enjoying!

Technically yeah it’s for the “plot” but also a really good reason for said plot

Albus looked confused, "Why, Wouldn't it be better to deal with him now?"

I see where your coming from but you also need to see it from an outside prospective. It’s not like Morpheus could show up secretly several days later and create some ritual or ward to help him. He was on their territory surrounded unable to apparate to reposition and gain a advantage, he could have either brute forced the situation and yes he would have killed a lot of them but he would have been injured far more heavily. Or he could tactically retreat and deal with the vampires in one swift motion. IF the meeting was on different grounds and not on a territory with enstinsive wards that eliminate the main agility/movement of wizards then he could have won easily. I personally don’t think this makes him look weak at all, he has not lived for so long by just blindly fighting. He has been preparing for the overall war in which he has previously worked with the vampires for years and they never did him wrong this was a betrayal he will deal with swiftly and ruthlessly. They didn’t chase him for several reasons but one is because Vlad knew once Morpheus was outside of the castle Morpheus would be holding the upper hand. The situation in this chapter was through a literal kill zone designed to end Morpheus which he thwarted.

They fear his mind above all and what he can do with time to prepare, at the end they chose not to chase and to defend the castle why? Because he knows Morpheus will come back with vengeance and he fears that. It would have been unrealistic for him to pull some ancient magic out of his a** that wipes them all out when I’ve shown that he is the most dangerous when he can prepare.

Fighting a army of vampires while defending against giant stone golems is much different than a one on one fight. Morpheus is the definition of prep time. He was on their territory being seiged at all sides, no way to reposition as he couldn't apparate at all to even find a vantage point. It would have been unrealistic to have him pull out a overpowered spell out of his a** when I have shown him to be the most dominate when he has even the smallest amount of time to prepare. He does not let this slide and get his get back fairly quick. From a strategic outlook retreating there was a better option so he can take them out more sufficiently. In a couple chapters you will see his plan and what actions he takes.

    Exactly what I pictured

In the enveloping darkness, Xenophilius felt an inexplicable sensation of weightlessness, as if he was descending into the depths of the unknown. Suddenly, he was engulfed in a kaleidoscope of colors, a cosmic tapestry that seemed to transcend the boundaries of reality.

Think of them treating magic like oxygen they need it to survive and they would have been fine had they not done things to ‘pollute’ the magic in their realms. Be it from war, technology advancing, and excessive use. As their magic was beginning to twindle the beings realized they needed to do something. When the veil was put up it stopped them from being able to save their realms by using Earth's resources. More will be explained later but that's all I can say without heavy spoilers

"Do you think I care? You can try to turn my people against me, it might even work but honestly, why would I care? I will win, and you will be confined to your tiny space behind the veil, there you will count down the days you have left as you are starved for magic. Every day I will be the center of your thoughts, well not your thoughts your peoples!" Morpheus said brightly before flicking his wand
