I think you're confusing reality, Bob Iger was fundamental to Disney, a born strategist, don't forget. He was responsible for convincing Steve Jobs to sell Pixar to Disney, as well as buying Marvel in 2009 for $4 billion; Lucasfilm (owner of the Star Wars franchise) for the same amount; and 21st Century Fox for US$71 billion in 2019. The guy laid out the pillars for Disney to be a success.
