I think the "wood style cost a lot of chakra" thing is just something fan invented to balence the thing since it is kinda broken. Oh and btw someone with a proper wood style like the MC, Hashirama or Ashura can absorb the enemy chakra through their wood jutsu so they should never miss chakra tbh.
