If you were thinking of reading this, don't. I can't think of anyone that this would be a good read for. But then maybe that is me and if you do enjoy it, I'm glad you have find a good book for you!
This isn't worth your time. Double returns apparently mean 10x, 100x or anything else really. What will happen when he provides power to a disciple changes constantly over the course of a few chapters. Could be translation rather than the author but everything else feels similar. At the end of one chapter, the sect master is respecting the MCs decision and at the start of the next chapter, he is angry about it.
Translators cleaned up their translation! That is something you don't see often on here. Used to say something rather different. The new text makes a lot more sense.
I quite like beast taming novels and this one seems like a decent one for the genre. The author is clearly trying to spice things up by merging two types of books, side character and beast taming. The MC and FL are boring but in a way that could be really good if done well. I am interested enough to keep following it. That said, the translation is bad. Like the tamed beast is both small enough to fit on the MCs shoulder and big enough to carry him and two others. There are typos in chapter titles, duplicated text, gender is all over the place, and the list goes on. There are also nitpicking concerns, like a top school 'teaches' by ignoring students and telling them to figure it out on their own? Overall though, I am hopeful.
I don't really need to repeat the other reviews but I wouldn't bother with this one. That said, what is going on with the new novels getting selected? We are down to four this week and all of them are pretty terrible. The ones for last week were also really bad. Ratings are super low too. Normally there is one or two each week I think is at least decent but two weeks of nothing but bad novels, and not many of them, is a worry.
The start of this is filled with cliches that happen because they should in this kind of novel. Clan gives a past genius years and lots of resources to cultivate again. He doesn't so they ignore the clan law that says to kick him out and instead give him a quiet and easy job in the middle of nowhere. In exchange, the MC sees them as a trashy clan and plans to abandon them because...??? They weren't happy that he was taking in all these resources? He knew why the resources the clan provided weren't enough for him to cultivate but didn't bother to tell them and then is angry at them for not just giving him everything because he wanted it. Yea. The MC isn't likeable at all. The plot seems pretty bland too. I'll pass on reading further.
Just to be clear: The clan spent tons of money on him for years and when it looked like he was going to be useless they bent the rules and didn't ban him from the family. Even arranged what looks like a semi decent job for him. That clan is the one he wants to abandon now? Because they didn't do enough for him? When he didn't bother to tell them about why he was using so many resources? I think the MC is the bad one here.
I had a slightly different take which is that this is a bad translation and wizard might mean something more like witch/warlock. In that case, it would make a bit more sense that monsters follow people who get powers from demons. That said, no idea what the heck is actually supposed to be said here.
I wouldn't waste your time on this one. I am not going to go into each every thing that is wrong but the 'characters' are terrible and the plot is bad. The power is... not good. No thanks.
So the same people reach the peak of the same stage twice? Just ten years apart? What?
