telling reader that this book gonna confused them unless reading other book is a bad idea. imagine star rail fan want to read a fanfic but then they need to read a whole another book to understand this? just create a chapter and explain in summary what reader need to understand based on from that book instead of telling to read that massive book. mostly got no time or want to spend that much effort just to read a fanfic which probably won't complete anyway
